This thread is pretty entertaining but I have to ask where has Shiv been the last couple of months? He dropped off the map entirely. We really need him online to take the forum drama to that next level. Click here to enlarge

Shiv probably told tt to pretend he had a fix and refuse to tell anyone what it was just to watch everyone here get their panties in a bunch.

He is recovering from yet another operation to remove a potentially lethal amount of sand from his vagina. I think he also took the opportunity to get his breasts done so Vishnu fanboys literally have something of his they can suck on to feel better.

No, there is more going on here. I believe he has been working on his motor and I believe he may be on to something but I also believe he may be jumping the gun. His confidence earlier and his responses since don't mesh.

Shiv's gone silent because he's probably working like a monkey to get a solution and to avoid questioning at all costs. This is his style; he must know it wont be long before customers get really disgruntled and no longer stay silent. I think 3 sold cars and no performers prove this.

I don't know about 3, I think my frustration accounts for one of those three. Seriously i was ready to throw in the towel until now. I'm impressed that Dzenno has stuck with it as long as he has. Its not fun to have a problem that you can't figure out especially after dropping a lot of money on it.

You are a manual trans and don't have misfire issues, right? So doesn't that blow the "all manual trans misfire over xyz whp" theory out of the water?

I would happily accept a fix independent of its source and I would hope anyone with the knowledge of said fix wouldn't hold it back due to the asshats in the world. I hope it would benefit more of the non-asshats, but you never know if the population mix allows for that.

I really doubt its the DMFW...anything is possible and yes those that don't misfire are running single mass but i really don't think that'd be the case as the misfire wouldn't be boost dependent

I see. I've never been a fan of them due to the complexity involved. KISS. Click here to enlarge I would think if it was slipping under the higher loads the first indicator would be random small RPM spikes in logs. I don't see how a flywheel problem would impact bank2 only either. But if all the cars with a DMFW are misfiring and all those without it are not, maybe you are on to something.

There can only be one of two causes. Either the crankshaft is rotating at a slightly uneven speed, or it's not and the DME is picking up a mistimed signal. If you had CPS in play where you are reading and replicating the signal, possibly with reduced resolution, I'd say that is suspect #1. But, as I understand it many have bypassed it and the misfires continue.

The DME has a fairly strong pull up on the CPS sensor and a good filtering algorithm. IMHO any signal noise would likely be interpreted as a missing tooth or gap error. You'd have to have the same noise in the exact same tooth the exact same way for several RPM to indicate misfire and I just don't see that happening every single time only under certain boost levels.

It is possible the misfire detection is simply overly sensitive and that at certain power levels a certain amount of "rough running" is inherent in the system. The fix would be to desensitize the misfire detection algorithm via the flash. Since that isn't possible the short term fix would be to disable misfire detection all together.

It's a thing of beauty to watch a forum get trolled, congrats to tmo335tt.

And lol at Shiv's new 'modifications', now how long before someone puts up a photoshop image and makes the thread NSFW Click here to enlarge
