I am sure you aren't the only one wondering, kind of funny how you can't find out why there.

There is nothing illegal about censoring posts on a privately owned forum. As long as those posts being censored are not illegal by nature. In other words, if they were censoring posts about child pornography instead of reporting it to the proper authorities then they would be illegal. But this is nothing like that. It's just shady $#@!s taking advantage of kids on the internet by controlling the flow of information.

When you see businesses choosing not to participate in a forum despite the exposure it would provide, THAT SAYS IT ALL.
I know a person who works relentlessly to put an end to it.

Few vendors like their policies other than those who benefit (Vishnu, ESS, etc,) but they can't ignore the money. It's going to take offering close to similar sales to really change the game when vendors can just dump them outright. Higher quality is only appreciated by a handful, most vendors only value sales.

People are talking about this: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=959691

What's funny is a good discussion gets going and then they lock the thread as links to BimmerBoost make them uneasy. Heh, get used to it.

LOL no that's a guy from Umnitza a vendor from back in the day who embraced the censorship/deleting philosophy. People referred to him as Umnazi.

There is little any single vendor can do about the poor e90post management. I know at some point Internet Brands made them an offer but they were unable to come to terms. Which is shame. I'd be happy to pay $1500/mo (3x what they charge now) to reach their readership if management and policies were changed. Ultimately though forums like this one, n54tech, etc, are whittling away at their readership and vendors are starting to see the light. There are a lot of other places to spend advertising dollars these days. A lot more than there were in 2007 when we were banned.

I'm sure the answer is somewhere on this forum, but how come N54Tech is allowed to be referenced on E90 & Bimmerboost isn't?

Because N54tech is a BMS support forum and BMS proxy advertises. If they cut that off as well they would raise even more hell. I'm sure they have thought about it.

n54tech used to be blocked, and the words "n54tech", "juice box", and "burger", would turn to "********", in an attempt to damage our business. Ultimately though I think enough users complained and they rescinded the policy.

Jason is a very odd guy. Back when I was talking to them Mark seemed more reasonable but was very hands off. Perhaps he was just the financier and Jason the programmer. Jason seemed quick to want to be a "tough guy" if you anger him by asking the wrong question or fail to follow one of his directives. But as I understand it he is rather meek and generally friendly in person. I really do think it's small penis syndrome. Hopefully some day they are bought out and replaced, or readership erodes away enough that some other forum (like this one) develops the same critical mass they currently enjoy. It's a bit like Shiv. People only deal with him because they are forced to. Given a viable alternative they are happy to jump ship. Give vendors a viable alternative to e90post and they will leave in droves.

I'm working on it Terry, honestly I am. It isn't simple and I also don't have their budget. So not only do they have a head start and more money to work with, they also censor me. It's an uphill fight but our N54 readership has decent mass. Yes, not as much, but it also can't be ignored at the moment. In all honesty we are the number #2 site for modern BMW's right now same thing with Benz.

I appreciate your support it definitely makes things easier. I'll start throwing some serious money at this after New Year's.
