Updated photos showing CP-E (Custom Performance Engineering) N54 Twin Turbo upgrade kit progress - Yes, it's still coming

Updates on this twin turbo upgrade for the N54 have not been posted in some time leading to some speculation that CP-E was no longer working on it. As a matter of fact, the last time anything was posted on it was in November of last year. That updated showed a mock-up of the manifolds and the turbos. Since then things have progressed to actually having the turbos and manifolds mounted on the motor with a mock up of the piping.

So yes, this upgrade is still coming. The N54 turbo upgrade market continues to heat up and really the main thing it is missing with a single turbo option out (kind of, still being tweaked and no real info from the handful of customers who have it) is an option for upgraded larger twins. For now, the only twin upgrades have been to the stock turbos.

There is no timeline of completion but it looks as if CP-E and Vargas Turbocharger Technology will have the main turbo upgrade options for larger twins on the N54. Expect debate on the forums to soon shift from which tune to get to which turbo upgrade to get. Let the single versus twin debate begin!

Looks pretty awesome. Curious as to which turbos they went with and how the package looks installed in a car.

Had no idea they could fit two external gates in there. Smart thinking! Looks very stout.

Weird I was actually sent these pictures this morning. Looks very cool and nicely done, not sure where the intake piping is going, the vacuum chambers etc seem to be where the front intake comes up. But its hard to tell in the pics. Also these turbos look pretty huge. The main benefit we saw from going twins instead of a single was to keep them small enough to retain nice spool and still reach nice peak numbers. I cant imagine 2 turbos this big would spool any quicker than a big single.

Are your stage 2's using the stock turbo housing, like your stage 1 (and OEM replacements), or are they a bigger housing (like these)?

Looks very pretty. Not sure on the fitment and i assume it'd most likely need to be installed outside the engine bay but who knows at this point...more options more variety can't hurt...different strokes Click here to enlarge

$6-$8k?? You know a single kit is $6750 in journal bearing format right? Add $595 for a Ceramic BB turbo. Thats $7345 for the base kit with the BB option. This kit looks like it has TWO BB turbos, TWO external gates, Cast manifolds, Cast downpipes, etc. This is easily a 10K kit, in my opinion because of the complexity of the cast wastegate setup, into the DP's etc.

You got a point, but, but, but, its so damn beautiful and eloquently designed. I had to pick my mouth up off the floor.

Not to mention more money to be spent on the exhaust system. I dont care, I am a power whore anyhow, I WANT IT !

This is going to be a top tier setup for those who want it done right. Those worried about costs will be better served with a single IMHO.

I personally do not like the one turbo forward and one turbo backwards set up. My fabricator suggested this route and actually set it up for me to look at as it was easier to build, I rejected it. Last thing I want if one of my compressors / intake pipes sandwiched between a glowing manifold and a down pipe thats 1500 degrees. You mount them the way they cam factory and it keeps all the heat on the inside where it is easier to protect the charge intake piping from it. I see a few problems with this design which is most likely why these pictures were taken a year ago and it still has not seen production. If you have the cad drawings to cast pipes out of abs you have the drawings to cast them out of SS or Cast Iron. So one thing or another stopped them from moving forward. Its anyones guess as to what. I will most certainly agree its beautiful though.

Those are not Disco Potatoes. Much bigger then a GT28 from them looks looks of them. But again its very hard to tell from these pics. But they look like precision housings. If they are twin T3's expect these to spool slower than a single would on a 3.0 motor.

I'm pretty sure those pics are from this year's SEMA show in Vegas. Someone else local to CPE said they would be offering 3 turbos sizes ranging from 600-1000 hp or something like that. Either way they look sick and the more options the better. Hopefully CPE will chime in with an update.

No arguing that this is an awesome looking kit, these pictures are from a year ago, not this year from what I was told. I was also told this kit is being released in 2014. The more options the merrier I agree, but I am hoping to have something much before then. Our kit is a much different in approach as we are using internal gates and facing the turbos in the stock layout. I promised pics last week but we had to get some more long radius 90 Weld Els sent as we needed 3 more, because I changed the manifold design for what I hope is the last time. I want to do it once and do it right. I'll keep you guys posted, will def have some pics by this weekend.
