You will enjoy the added power from the hardware.
And, you will also enjoy the added power and power delivery with the Evolve tune; from throttle tip-in to throttle release, and everything in between.

Do you plan to do before and after dyno runs?

    No idea.

    @evolve @Imranevolve

Is the error due to no cats?

By DTML, do you mean DMTL? Diagnostic Module Tank Leakage?

I heard sometimes this part fails on the E46 M3. I'll be honest, I don't really know what it does. I just hear it's a really easy fix. A quick Google search for DMTL Error Code should send you in the right direction if that is what it is.

    Best of luck!

incredible power increases from a no boost upgrade and tune..... i REALLY want to know where the power is extracted from and the exact changes made.... money dependant id like like to move the same route.... i am just alittle sceptical as to how these VT 500 kits are making more power than the higher boost kits??? Can the ess tune be running that bottlenecked in the name of safety?? and how much safety margin is being removed with the new tune?? Their HAS to be some removed... you simply cant have your cake and eat it in life!! would love some answers to these questions!!

    1. The original thread topic that I started here was a hardware comparison.
No change in ECU map, just hardware changes.

    2. talol85's comparison is from a VF tune to Evolve, not ESS.
It could well be that gains from VF to Evolve are greater than from ESS to Evolve.

    3. I posted a different thread where I show dyno comparisons of ESS and Evolve tunes on my VT2-500 kit.
    http://www.bimmerboost.com/showthrea...-and-ESS-Files
In this thread Sal points out some key items about Evolve tuning, see post #4 in the linked thread.
The overall 'gains' in my case are not as much as talol85's from VF to Evolve, but there are gains.
Just as important to me are the overall drive characteristics of the Evolve tune, as I note in the thread.

I have run the Evolve ECU map on the VT2-500 hardware for over 21,000 miles to date.
The beast still runs great. Kit installed at 81,000 miles, the car is a daily with occasional track, and is now nearing 103,000 miles.
All of the threats I heard from a certain individual about safety and margin have proven to be hot air.

Keep in mind than VF kits are more dyno friendly due to its water to air system. Air to air systems, like ESS kits, are prone to run higher temps on dyno which leads to lower dyno numbers. But on the streets and highways runs cooler and has better performance.
