Too much money, time, and effort. Plus, we would need to rally the support of a large portion of the country, and we would face quite a large resistance unfortunately.

Too much money lost on speeding tickets you mean as they would not be able to write as many. Time and effort? I don't know about that, what's the problem really?

Yes, it won't change as insurance companies won't want it plus law enforcement won't want it. Kind of funny how the people get the least to say.

Government at its finest. Although, to be honest, i consider driving tests for senior citizens to be even more important. I live in Naples Fl, which is the retirement capital of the world. Its scary, to say the least. I worked with an old lady the other day who is 94 yrs old and cannot walk (without a little scooter), yet drives like a bat out of hell. Scary lol

As far as the radar/laser detectors, i am leaning towards the 9500ix and the V1. Do either of these offer a inconspicuous/hidden model that works just as well as the standard one? Ill clarify if your not sure what i mean...

I consider me driving as fast as I want to more important, I can dodge the seniors pretty well. Kidding aside I get your point.

radar only works if the cop has it on. sometimes they do, sometimes they dont. nothing will stop/protect you if you are radared. LI will HELP if your lasered, but nothing is 100%. driving like a fukstick is just as bad if not worse than speeding.

Marines should be immune to speeding tickets.

Was just venting and i needed info on the V1/9500ix. Sorry? Thanks for the info though. Ive always heard that a 9500ix + LI is a good bet against the police. A friend of mine with an M3 uses the K40 with limited success (although he gets paced quite often).

Just data log in 3rd -- little easier to find the space where ~90 MPH (top of 3rd) is socially "acceptable"

You can't go wrong with either one. Personally the 9500ix is the best unit I have ever used, but my experience with the V1 is riding with someone else so no long term use. The 9500 is USB updateable (firm ware, download backups to laptop.), ID's red light cam intersections and fixed position speed cams, ignores false signals after passing the same location 3 times. Add the laser shifter unit and laser targeting is almost defeated.

Having said all that the 9500ci (same specs as 9500xi) which is the remote mount version is expensive! ($1500 + install), but invisible.

Was recently doing 80 in a 60, definitely got nailed by laser, as I passed the PoPo he stared at me but never pulled out on me. Had to laugh at my wife who was punching my arm and cussing me out because she thought I would be pulled over, but I wasn't..... HA! The laser shifter gives the PoPo's gun a no read.

Thanks for the info! So, where is the best place to buy the 9500ix and the laser-shifter?

The 9500ci is basically these two products wrapped up into a concealed unit?

    EDIT:

How about here for the 9500ix?

    Is this the Laser Shifter?

    Yes.

I got my xi 2 years ago on a special through Best Buy, and bought the ci's through my local installer, Benchmark Motoring.

The link you listed is the escort web site and is the retail price, but it can be had for less. Also check out some of the radar detector websites, they constantly test and compare different manufacturers, sometimes offering discounts. Its a whole 'nother fanboy world!

One of my cars was in Tucson AZ and got hit with photo radar for speed - 53 in a 35. Mailed to me. Apparently you do not have to pay it or do anything since the citation was not given directly to you. They have to send a process server. Last year in Tucson they issued 27,000 of these citations, 9000 went to process server and only 4300 were actually served. And if you are out of state, they will not spend the money to serve you in another state. So I threw it away since it wasn't me driving in the first place Click here to enlarge
