    Accurate summary?

If so, do you think any of the tuners out there don't turn up the boost as they're developing cars? And then sell kits will less than the most the turned it up to? Or do you just not want to be shown the development phase where they do that, and prefer it to be hidden in a veil of development secrecy Click here to enlarge.

In NONE of those threads did they say, state, or even allude that the production kits would be hitting those numbers.
Correct, all the ESS owners are happy here and the hardware is solid with reliable tuning.

No one said don't buy, several people here have bought their kits. If I was in the market for an S62 supecharger, I believe they are the only option in that game and would recommend it, no problem. I would tell people to expect lower than advertised numbers as the vast majority on M5board have shown.

It isn't about turning up the boost, a lot do it. You don't seem to get that you can't hit 600 whp with 8 psi on pump gas through the stock exhaust. It just isn't possible, I don't care what kind of testing they were doing.

Yes, they imply in the thread the 560 whp is their production kit and 100% bolt on. They never once say these are not the numbers to expect. As a matter of fact, they fueled the hype with a 600 whp graph right after. They had me thinking 600 whp would be easy on these cars, it isn't.

maybe it was a bigger pipe-- 8psi through a bigger pipe is more air (power) than 8 psi through a smaller pipe.

Either way, as long as the kit is advertised as what it is when people spend money (aka, "VT2-625" is 625 crank horse power), I don't see that anybody has been misled. Nobody buying that kit should have expectations beyond what is in the NAME OF THE KIT.

Bigger pipe? You are speculating about hardware changes now that have never been mentioned before? Last I checked the hardware was all the same and the measure of backpressure (boost) is the same. A bigger pipe being fed into indendent throttle bodies is going to pick up 70+ whp? LOL

People haven't been hitting their advertised numbers: http://www.bimmerboost.com/showthrea...laimed-Numbers

Those ESS dynos were misleading and they shoudl retract them as it is now completely clear they have absolutely nothing to do with the "kit" despite the claims that this was their "kit' on pump gas. The boost numbers that supposedly produced 560 whp at that boost in actuality is producing far less, yes, it is misleading.

Since ESS is doing spin that these were "testing" results how do you explain Roman using the 560 whp graph to showcase what the US kits will do: http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e90...ed-e92-m3.html

You don't find that misleading? Why even include the 560 whp graph? There is nothing stated there that this is not what one should expect for the kit only the graph attached to an announcement for the US SC's. Like I said, they used these numbers to hype the kits and these graphs are not at all a realistic representation so yes, quite misleading and irresponsible.

Allow me to copy and paste the first sentence of that thread, which is in bold, for you:

A couple pictures of our US test car with a pre-production version of the kit. The kit when released this summer will be available in 600 and 650 HP.
Yes, they also included a dyno of what the car was doing as they developed. But they stated, in enlarged, bolded text, at the FIRST sentence in the thread, that the production kit would be 600-650 hp.

So no, I don't feel misled in the slightest.

You can't post links because you are a guest vendor, read the rules. Yep, this means you can't quote links either as that would still be posting a link, wouldn't it?

Yes, they included a dyno which has absolutely no relevance to what the real world results will be. They might as well have just made a graph in paint with a line going up to 50,000. Why post that graph unless you are trying to tell people your kit puts down 560 whp? Why was a graph that has no bearing posted? Like I said, they have been using those inflated graphs to sell and promote kits as you can see right there, MISLEADING.

And one on M5board of it making 555 rwhp at 7.5 psi through a built exhaust yet somehow it does 600 whp at 8 psi through the stock exhaust in "testing," figure that out.

They showed those graphs to sell kits and get the hype up, period. Is it wrong? I think so, better to let your customers speak so you don't have a disparaity of almsot 100 whp to explain or try to sweep under the rug. Something Obioban the ESS dealer has absolutely no problem with, but I do.

ESS mislead and lied to hype their kit, simple as that, I think even ESS fanboys have realized this by now.

Sticky, you should move this discussion into it's own thread and not ruin a new members thread just because he got a ESS kit and Obi is getting paid to defend all this $#@!...

Mike, it wasn't a new member posting a review about an ESS kit he got, it was an ESS dealer advertising that they like the ESS kits under the guise of a review.

That means there are now 2 ESS delears posting in this thread as Guest Vendors Click here to enlarge
