    making a switch

Im considering selling my e92 335i with fbo's and getting an older bmw like an e28 or e34 m5 or maybe a 635csi. They come with na i6 s38 motors that can make 400 and up na modded and some even make up to 800-900 turbo. You can pick one up for under 10k and then i would have the money left over to mod. Thoughts?
Turbo lag is the on ramp to the highway which is power.

Unless you can find one that's already been restored, or that has been maintained (and documented) at an anal retentive level, be prepared to replace a lot of stuff on a regular basis. I have an E30 325ix that seems to have something go bad or break every time I drive it. I guess the upside is that eventually the whole car will have been replaced. Bad news is that some parts are quite expensive due to the age and scarcity of these cars.

I traded my e92 FBO + meth + RBs for a built evo 8 + cash a couple of days ago and am loving every minute of it. Parts are SO cheap for this thing. It handles SO amazing too. Very fun.

haha, yeah it was too good of a deal to pass up. i found out today it's not as fast as my 335i was. yet.... i lost to a car today i used to beat. mods are below. I also got a FP HTA 3586r with the evo too. I need to have the oil pan pulled and see if the internals are upgraded before i put that turbo on. Hopefully they are, if not i'll have them done in the next month. If so, it'll have 600HP very soon Click here to enlarge

So many solid mods to build a high HP car with... And like you said, with anything not German or with GTR in the title, it's SOOO much easier/inexpensive to make tons of power.

Yeah owner took great care of this car. It truly is something to see for a 9 year old car. I'd say we both got pretty good deals. He got $15k in mods including BNIB RB turbos for almost nothing.

Couldn't rep you sticky but we need importboost. Evo forums kind of suck. I'll be posting up some stuff on here soon hoping some former Evo guys can help me out.

It'll payoff when this basically becomes the #1, performance-focused automotive forum.

you'll beat it for sure right now. I just lost to a guy I used to beat on in the 335i. Vids to come. @Sticky it'll be something you can put on VWboost. won't be this HP for long though Click here to enlarge sorry to thread jack @WDBi point was if a deal comes along that gives you the opportunity to get into a different platform don't feel married to the 335i. There is life after the n54. Maybe i'll be back once there are cams, springs, retainers, TT upgrades, etc.
