Total Damage $19,000 including labor, insurance company decided not to total. I will update with pics along the way. The shop is allowing me to purchase aftermarket upgrades (I will pay the difference) so it won't be a totally $#@!ty deal. New aftermarket intercooler, oil cooler and radiatror incoming for sure. Considering getting a vented hood as well but I kind of like the unassuming look of the car as I had it. Anyone else experience a near total loss scenario? This is my first accident (27 yrs old).

I was on 295s in NJ last wednesday night around 11pm, the road surface was a bit slick so I was doing right at the speed limit (rather than doing the normal for that road which is 10-15 over). I was about 7+ car lengths behind the car in front of me when he abruptly slammed his brakes, I quickly looked to my right only to see a car sitting right there so navigating around that way was not an option. I applied the brakes and slid about 50+ feet right into the back of the car in front of me. Airbags deployed obviously so I have a few ugly bruises and stuff but no major damage to me. I got out of the car and went to check on the guy I hit. He claimed that there was a car in front of him that had totally stopped in the left lane of the highway and that the guy in the other car drove off after he saw the accident. I received a careless driving ticket but the officer was pretty cool about the situation and said with my driving record they would likely waive it to a no point.

Front reinforcement beam took the brunt of the damage, the left side of it almost sheared off entirely. The rails and frame look to be in good shape per the adjuster and the body shop.

Timeframe is 2-3 weeks assuming no furher damage is discovered. I should have the car back around x-mas, just in time for my winter tire package to go on there and to switch it from map 3 to 0.

Upgraded intercooler was all I ended up doing in the end. I decided to just wait for vargas stage 2 or 3 and build from there since that's my next step. No point in adding a bunch of mods if I would just need to replace them later. I was hoping to get an aftermarket oil cooler but that did not end up happening.

We will see, there was no structural or engine damage. The only issue with the frame was the engine mount was ever so slightly off from the original position, they pulled the engine and put in a new engine mount so everything lines up just right. Hoping for the best but prepared for the worst.

ITS ALL DONE! Everything feels great in the test drive. No noises, rattles, everything feels tight and it seems to run even better with all the new parts and intercooler.
