JB4 daily driver trim does 121.2 Vbox

Weather was good tonight so i went out and decided to get some numbers.

As some of you know i deleted my cats recently making my car straight piped.

Before my car would consistently trap 118 on the vbox.

After the cat delete tonight my car consistently put down 120 & 121 mph traps with the highest being 121.2 mph

This was all done in my daily driver trim.
    Mods for these runs:
    jb4 g5 iso map 5
    50/50 e85/93
    vrsf downpipes
    vrsf 7" intercooler
    dci
    muffler delete
    cat delete
    oil catch can
    vmr vb3 18x8.5 18x9.5
    hankook v12 evo 275's 40% tread

My car weighs 3414lbs without me in it.

Im pretty impressed considering the car i drive everyday in its everyday trim traps 121.2 this is with no seats removed no race gas no meth no nos on street tires

Damn, I need to get a VBOX. Nice results, would've never guessed a 3mph increase from ditching the secondary cats.

I removed my second cats, put in a high flow muffler with a built in x pipe and deleted the h pipe and resonates. I got an average gain at the track of 1.5 mph over 50 or so runs, and picked up an average of .2 in my ET with the same 60fts There is definately a gain to be had. For me it was almost identical to the track gains I had by installing catless downpipes

What kind of sound difference was to be had? I'm running a stock catback with packing removed from the muffler to make it sound more like a PE exhaust. I've got AR catless DPs.

    Heres the sound

Its a little loud at cold startup for a minute or so, but quiets way up.. no rasp what so ever.

when i was muffler delete and catless downpipes it was raspy and some drone.. None of that now, that high flow muffler with the x pipe was a winner for my car.

Another option is to use that one (2 1/2" diameter piping) and put in in place of the rear mufflers if space is a concern. A friend of mine did it that way. I went with a magnaflow as a distributer is within a few miles of me. I scored one for $75

So I just added about 4.4 gals of e85 and 9 gals of 91. Got a weird half engine light while auto tuning it, no clue why. I have not checked the code as I did it while on break from work. I restarted the car and now it hauls serious ass in 6th gear!!! It felt crazy fast, compared to just running 91 piss CA piss water. Can't wait to do a couple more runs later on tonight, as hopefully the car auto tunes itself completely. One question though. Do I need to restart map 5 everytime I change gas? Like if I went from straight 91 to e30 or back to 91 only?

I would reset learning, Yes, when going from 91 to E30 and back to 91. For sure. Half engine light is odd though. Post up the code when you read it.

what is your open loop fuel mapping set at? Map 5 should learn it out, and like bigdnno said, if you keep a consistent blend in it, no need to reset. If you go back to straight 91 or a considerably diff blend, just switch to map 1 or 2 exit out then switch back to map 5. do a log if you get the engine light again. with a code it will be easy to fix as thats a light blend of E85 Click here to enlarge) hope that helps
