diff lockdown/wheel hop fix nearing production...

Due to unforseen circumstances due to a hurricane, this has delayed further than I had hoped...I received my first set of cnc made bushings for my differential lockdown kit, here's a teaser picture. I intentionally left out pieces that complete the whole set up,once production is a go I intend to application patent the whole thing.Click here to enlarge
Now...since thew earlier incarnations of the kit were made by hand to fit,and this was not,the German perfectionist in me is preventing me from releasing this officially until I get one more test car in for an install by myself. I have no interest in shipping anything out that does not fit exactly how i'd like it to,it will have my name on it and that's something I dont take lightly. If your from the PA,NJ,NY,MD or DE areas and you'd like to save some money(I will waive install fees)and put a guaranteed end to wheel hop and associated breakage, then PM me. As soon as I test fit and greenlight production,I will run off several sets and make them available to the rest of the country asap. Thanks

shiny weights. good for car shows. you put them in the cavity where the spare would be and it adds weight to help prevent traction loss and wheel hop Click here to enlarge

lol, if its for the diff bushings, then it should be semi easily converted for e9x M3s as well. I know of 2 that would be willing to be testers for an M3 variant, hence the questions Click here to enlarge

so far i have only attended to the N54/55 E90/92,although i'm always open for developing things/new ideas/fitments.this kit replaces all three stock bushings and then adds an extra link to the subframe for the rear passenger side which BMW tended to neglect.it also reinforces the flimsy rear upper subframe with a fitted two-piece set of bushings.although i do like the toss em in the trunk ideaClick here to enlarge

The wheelhop clip used in this video is actually a clip of my first time to the strip, used without my permission. I demand a set as compensation.

as far as pricing goes, there is going to be a few variants-for those of you who already have solid bushings for the 3 factory mounts ill sell the 4th link bushing/bracket/arm assembly separate-although a word of warning,i did try to do this with poly bushings at first and still occasionally experienced a "chatter" on rough/uneven road surfaces. If your looking for a kill to this problem the differential requires positive support on all corners.i wont get a exact handle on pricing until i start producing,if i had to guess id say within the $5-700 range. It will be supplied with X grade aircraft hardware and instructions. There's quite a bit of time, money and testing that has already gone into perfecting this

how much space is there between the highest portion of the VAC cover and the rear subframe? I would be open to adapting accordingly...would need to either have a cover or car in possession to do so...VAC is relatively nearby...that is a nice chunk of billet. Im suprised after all the time invested in that beautiful thing they didn't beat me to the punch on this.

i wonder how different it is, i've only had experience with earlier M's/newer E60 M5(i hail from the supra world...shhhh). Is your differential mounted via 3 or 4 points?

really interested in this but i'm in south FL. @rick@defiv, if you'd like to work something out let me know and we can go to PM. the car is down at the moment and the subframe needs to be replaced. it's really perfect timing if we can get something straight.

the pivotal thing to greenlight this whole thing is a willing local tester.the sooner someone steps up,the sooner the rest can be done.Im not comfortable with boxing anything up unless i've personally verified that it fits to spec.it's probably fine, but probably isn't good enough to me...one of the drawbacks of being a quality-control freak, i dont wanna have to ship it somewhere and it be off by .5mm...it will be in production as soon as humanly possible.just need that one willing participant...

i do have a "plan B" car to do it on,but i'd rather see it go to use in a car that needs it.plus it would be nice to return whatever capital back into materials.6061-T6 billet grade aluminum rod isn't cheap. Development is an incredibly expensive leap of faith...ill make the call on the plan B if no one local w a N54/55 car surfaces this week, but it will be begrudgingly lol.seems everyone really interested is anywhere but around here(that i haven't gotten to already).thus is life.
