Thats kinda sticky IMO... Meaning on the surface it sounds hella cool and makes lots of sense but I need to see some practical applications for it. For instance on a stock 5.0 Mustang then on the same car with a built motor or changing boost levels and so on.

This is major. This is big.

Seems like a simple solution on the surface, use a variable transmission for different ratios. But... this makes it more complex, less reliable, heavier, and the damn thing looks really big. Plus how strong is it?

Still, this could be a game changer. Turbo guys won't be the only ones who can change their boost at the push of a button. Going to get a ton of info on this at SEMA.

I've always wondered when someone was gonna do that, about time.

well i think that procharger putting their name on it shows they are serious with this....im sure it will get used on something major VERY soon....

Yes but how reliable will a belt driven CVT setup be? How does it get power? So this has more loss?

Years ago Job Spetter at Turbo People came up with a boost controller for a centri blower on a Mustang. No where near this kit but it basically ran the highest boost pulley and then had different boost levels. Never stuck though, I thought that was gonna be the game changer. No more changing pulleys and belts.

The transmission idea has been around forever, it's just that no one has done it successfully. About time procharger stepped up to take the challenge, watch vortech come out with something similar in a year.

On the surface I would say I would stick with what I got blower wise. But if this turned out to be compact, reliable and powerful I could see some good use on a Vette on new 5.0 Mustang

Imagine having a decent amount of boost right off idle. This is a great idea - curious to see how it pans out. No more changing pulleys - just key in a new ratio? That's just awesome.

Imagine mapping boost as an INDEPENDENT variable now... You can control it.

I am going to tell you right now that the imports are gonna be all over this technology. The smaller displacements from japanese motors will benefit from this even more.
