    2011 F25 X3 Revealed - Powered by N52 and N55

BMW revealed the new BMW X3 today. The car has an attractive design inside and out. The X3 will be receiving 3 motors although only 2 are confirmed for the USA at the moment, the 240hp Xrdive28i powered by the N52 and the 300hp Xdrive35i powered by the N55. BMW is reporting a 0-60 of 5.7 seconds for the xdrive35i.

The vehicle comes with an 8speed automatic and a diesel is available but not in the US market yet. The diesel model is the Xdrive20d which is a 4 cylinder diesel, specs:
Displacement: 1,995 cc, power output: 135 kW/184 bhp at 4,000 rpm, max. torque: 380 Nm at 1,750 – 2,750 rpm.

With a curb weight around ~4000 pounds, the X3 is one of the lightest SUV's on the market. We would argue the X3 would serve as a better base for an M suv than the X5 or X6 even. Unfortunately, it seems BMW will not be giving this model a V8.

Wondering when this was going to be posted.

I read somewhere, maybe Edmunds. 1 year after lauch they will offer it with the 35d powerplant, which would be all kinds of win.

I am worried about the silver reflector in the corner of the headlights.

I have a feeling that will be orange for the US models.

Making it impossible to get rid off.

It really is nice. Imagine it on bigger rims with a drop + tint.

Would it have killed them to offer a V8?

For the North American Press Release BMW is claiming 5.5 seconds 0-60 for the Xdrive35i.... the real figure is likely slightly lower. This thing with some upgrades will really be a strong little SUV.

Really? I find the GLK absolutely horrid. The GLK interior is even worse, it looks very cheap. The Q5 is great looking though.

The GLK has great proportions but doesn't get any of the good Benz motors. The interior is the weakest link, WAY, WAY cheap. It also won't handle anywhere near as good as the X3.

Yea. I like the rugged look of the exterior. I have never test drove one, though. So thats based solely on pictures from the internet. You are right about the interior though. However, at the price point of 35k though, what do you expect?

Well, that has to be for a stripper model as I know the X3 is going to be in the 45k-50k range with options.

I like the Q5 with the S-line package, but it needs the S4 supercharged 6.

But the M-sport X3 is looking good.

You know what is odd? The Chinese Version of the Cayenne is getting the S4 supercharged 6. Now if the Q5 gets that motor things will be interesting as the X3 has the upper hand in powerplants right now.

Now that would be a cool combo. I am really liking the new Cayenne styling and I have driven the new S4. The powerplant is very nice.
