    Velos Designwerks supercharges an E60 M5 S85 V10 with the ESS-Tuning VT2-650 supercharger kit, dyno results - 562 rwhp

There are going to be more and more supercharged E60 M5 and E63 M6 V10 vehicles on the road now that more affordable supercharger solutions are on the market. Velos Designwerks recently installed an ESS-Tuning VT2-650 supercharger kit which uses a Vortech based unit with self-contained oiling and a water/air aftercooler.

On 93 octane pump gas the supercharged car puts down 562 wheel horsepower in STD correction. In SAE the result is 550 wheel horsepower. Conditions were warm in the 90 degree range. Definitely impressive but it would be great to know at what boost levels this rear wheel horsepower was reached.

Regardless, this supercharger will add in the 140 rear wheel horsepower range to an M5/M6 S85 V10 on pump gas. Graphs and photos below, nicely done Velos!

Kind of disappointing considering the e92 m3 vt2 puts out the same amount of power, even with the 100hp advantage from stock

I was waiting until someone said this.

Well this is on lower boost. Also, the S85 really could use a bigger blower but packaging constraints are the problem. It's the same thing as an S65 just with more displacement. It really will all things being equal beat it.

The E92 M3 has a couple advantages namely a better factory header design, more space in the engine bay for a larger blower, and a DCT transmission. So, I'm just patiently waiting for blown M5 owners to get cocky so they can be reminded who's boss.

Nice! Thanks for posting that information Jean!

Peak numbers may be nearly identical to the E92 ESS VT2-625s that Jean posted in the past, but man that S85B50 packs a big kick in the pants in the midrange. This thing has definitely got to be a blast to drive.

This car is begging for some freer flowing headers. The OE S85 headers are pretty not optimal by overall design with that cat clogging up exhalation. I imagine a nice boost drop and power increase if they got some sexy squigglies coming out of the head...haha

Missing an air filter on the left side is it not ? We had an m6 at the shop not to long ago and I could of sworn it had 2 filters.

M3 Sc vs m5 Sc Would be an amazing race!

We did one with a set of AP high flow cat headers....that thing REALLY picked up in the mid-range, even with the boost only in the 1-1.5psi area...

The VT1 kit comes with only the 1 intake cone. There is an upgrade DCI (Dual Cone Intake) that can be added to the VT1.

The problem is not with adding additional power. Its how to add cooling that actually works to all that heat

Not really, the water/air coolers used are more than capable.
