    Renntech updated BMW Diesel tune for E90 335d and E70 X5 xDrive3d M57 turbo six-cylinder + 57 wheel horsepower dyno

Renntech released their Diesel software for the E90 BMW 335d as well as the E70 X5 xDrive35d both equipped with the turbo M57 diesel six-cylinder motor. Renntech provided BimmerBoost with their dyno runs and the highest baseline was chosen to display on the graph along with the peak tuned figures in SAE correction. Renntech claims gains of up to 65 crank horsepower and 54 crank pound-feet of torque.

The dynojet results gains of 57 wheel horsepower and 33 pound-feet of torque from the higher baseline backing up Renntech's claims. The software retails for $1200. Very nice done Renntech.

What a wonderfully flat calibration, so many tuners choose the puke and die powerband to entice customers with peak gains. This is such a better method of tuning though!

These guys are no joke, they know what they are doing. One of my buddies told me they made only 14whp less with their tune only, than with Procede, DP's and meth.

Renntech tunes pretty damn well and on a variety of platforms. Their BMW offerings continue to expand and are pretty impressive.

    Stunning curves!!

I wonder how this would compare with some of the other competitors tunes.

I want to drive one of these things...looks like so much fun, haha.

Mines clocked 70 whp with OLD tune, I beleive it has more since Lenny reconfigured it the last time I went to them, Yes RENNtech does not mess around, having Lenny aboard whom happens to have a 335i, you figure it out!! Anyway, like before I have used RENNtech since 2003 or 2004 on my 02 MCS and now my 2011 335d, there are other good tuners but I will stick with them, thier product has been bulletproof for 9 years with me, Click here to enlarge

How's the hit for fuel economy? We're currently averaging 25mpg between city/hwy.

hifiguy if youre a racer like me you will loose some MPGs currently Im getting anywhere from 22-23 mpg city and HOLD ON to this anywhere from 40-46 mpg hwy yes amigo you read that right BUT mind you i have the WAGNER IC which helps improve more cooler air to the turbos but if i did not have the WAGNER IC it would of been anywhere from 36-40 mpg hwy but same in the city as above give or take

I don't think that SAV has seen many speeds below 60. Click here to enlarge

Dang, hombre! 36-46 hwy?! Now I got two mods to worry about. Click here to enlarge Sounds great though, especially if I ever find a used aluminum trailer to tow my m3. Click here to enlarge

Got any pics of your IC? I def plan on keeping the X5 so improving the hp/tq/mpg should pay for itself. Click here to enlarge It's still under warranty so might have to wait, but can't wait to see what's brewing!

that's awesome, how big is your fuel tank?

the stock limit on the X5's 22.5 gallon tank at 26mpg is 585 miles, though in LA we get around 450 per tank full. :\

go ahead and fwd me the pic, i'll post it up!

I am strongly considering he move to RennTech from the JBD. These curves just make me want to even more. I wonder how they would look with water/meth injection...

Its extremely common in the truck scene as the diesels tend to react very well to it, and there are a few folks running a setup on the 3er (TDIwyse did a custom setup and now BMS has started to offer their WW kit to the diesel crowd). Almost every oneof the truck folks i associate with are running either a performance or mpg tune in combo with Snow Performance's mpg max kit (which is adding power & efficiency to their tune and cleaning their engine to boot). Molecularly speaking, water is carbon buildups worst enemy which is another reason why I find the option so appealing.

Then I'm surprised nobody is trying it with these BMW motors.

AFAIK it's only Ron1n (who acted as Burger's guinea pig for the BMS WW kit) and TDIwyse (custom setup using a combo of a custom programmed JBD, Evolve Tune, and an off the shelf meth controller plugged in to MAP). I don't know of anyone running meth in conjunction with the RENNtech tune, though, and I think anyone taking it on now still qualifies as either a frontierman or at least an early adopter Click here to enlarge

My guess is that the RENNtech with meth would produce similar results to TDIs setup (with which he was running 12.6s on standard tires). If only we could get a good DPF delete tune stateside, we may be able to push beyond this.
