Thanks again for the help with the flanges! I appreciate it.

If you can leave black marks on a straight from the time you exit a corner till the time you brake for the next turn....... Then, you have enough horsepower.

As far as the O2 sensors go I don't think there is any option other than doing the exact same thing everyone else has done. Tuning still needs to be figured out, all I have right now is the Cobb AP. I'll either have to use someone elses tuning solution or build my own boost-control hardware, which I started working on last year.

FYI We'll be working on two ST setups soon trying two strategies. First will be all-in with the DME and Cobb's AP. If that doesn't work out well we'll try using an electronic boost controller to run the external wgate with the AP running the DME show.

Awesome. I really hope something like that can work out, seems better than trying to stack multiple tuning systems on top of each other.

That could be a fun open-source project to start.

I was experimenting with the MCP2515, MCP2551, and Arduino last year. But now that the ARM-based Arduino Due has built-in CAN support, that looks like a good option for car-related projects.

The raspberry pi is a waste of resources for a boost controller. A raspberry pi could run the entire car. An 8-bit micro controller is all that is needed. Ask Terry.

The AVR AT90CAN series has great CAN support and all the horsepower you'd need for a boost controller.

Regardless, I love when people build their own hardware, electrical or mechanical. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Completely agree, but given its availability, community support (PI community), and scalability, i think it would make a great piece for the community.

I agree. The raspberry pi seems to focus on multimedia though, not control systems. However it is inexpensive, and there is great community support. I'd like to see a project where someone tries to use a raspberry pi as a stand alone.

Just to verify, the additional turbo lag will not cause the DME to throw any underboost codes since these tables are being changed by the COBB, correct?

Well I finally put my set of flanges to use and built a single-turbo kit. I've never owned a car that was this much of a PITA to work on, I came close to putting my fist through the garage wall a few times.

It came out way closer to the headlight housing than originally planned, but at this point I really don't feel like trying to move it back for more room. I want to find some foam material I can sandwich between some mesh, in a large tube, and bolt that over inlet. Otherwise locate a filter a bit farther away from the turbo where I can find more room.

Too bad you're not near NJ. We could have the first White 335i w/ homemade top-mount turbo meet. It would be pretty easy to find a venue big enough LOL.
