Vargas STAGE II turbos- Info thread.

    Hi all,

I hope that I am not over stepping, but I see in the other threads that everyone is talking about Vargas STAGE I and III but not STAGE II.

So I hope no one mines me starting a thread for STAGE II information so Tony @Vargasturbo you can put some information here for those that would like to know what is happening with STAGE II.

    Thanks!!

Good idea... The other two threads have gotten long and cluttered. Since im on the boat for stage 2, id love to go once place just for stage 2 updates.

The latest update is we're waiting on the wastegates to come back and the machining to finish.. 1-2 weeks as of earlier this week. Then us beta testers install and ruin some tires.

I'm leaving town from 6-14 Nov and am dropping the car off at my shop in Nashville. I really hope they're able to ship them by then so I can have them installed when i get back. If so, I'll dyno when I pick the car up since there's an in house dyno at the shop. Fingers crossed.

On 9/4 they were quoted as "testing them now" (specifically Stage 2s), and shipping by ~9/18. Haven't seen anything tangible yet, not even a single picture, now 10/4.

Rob seems to find his way into every Vargas thread no matter what. Reminds me of the shirt currently offered on blipshift

in any case, anyone would be crazy to think deadlines mean anything when it comes to this type of development. They'll be ready when they're ready, sooner than later.

Their Stage I seems to be doing just fine and their build time seems to be quite a bit quicker than yours... just saying.

Everything seems to be on schedule as for what I remember tony saying when I talked to him to give a deposit. Stage 1s were to be finished first, then stage 2s end of last month/start of this month depending on WG parts.

Wonder if Vargas' agressive pricing will force "other" turbo makers to drop their price since no one will have any incentive to buy from another fabricator.

    Just sayin'.

Funny rob mentions deadlines. Before placing an order for my rbs rob gave me a ship time of 4-6 weeks. 13 weeks passed and no turbos. By that time I had an expensive visit to the vet with my dog and with the idea of stage 3s from Vargas on the horizen I sold them before even receiving them. I'm just glad I was able to sell them for close to what I paid. Also not once during those 13 weeks waiting did I get an email, pm, or phone call from rob concerning the delay. I always had to contact him, which he did respond within a day. Just saying...

glad you got them sold. It was really hard to turn them down. I definately thank you for the great offer though. I have my fingers crossed that everything works out with these Vargas Stage 2s. If not, I'll definately be kicking myself. Oh well, only time will tell Click here to enlarge

These new turbos aren't even proven yet (or released for that matter), so I don't see why they would be reduced just yet. I am not taking sides as I too am interested in seeing what Vargas puts out for their Stage 2 turbos, but as of right now the only other TT option is Rob's turbos which are effective and proven in real world applications.

I have faith that you made a wise decision. Had vargas stage 2's been around when I originally placed my order for rb's I would have gone for them myself, who wouldnt want to save ~$500. But my now I'm glad things worked out the way they did. I want my car to scare me, and just had the feeling that after a while on rb's I would be used to them and craving more power. Thank god for e90post though, only thing its good for is buying and selling stuff, I had a small bidding war going on for them! If the stage 3's don't turn out like I hope then the HPF twin scroll would be my second choice. Good times ahead for the n54!

So far only one person has these turbo's installed (stage 1) I think?? And still waiting on a dyno since that set had some issues from a bad install. Anyone else receive any stage turbo that can give some third party pics and thoughts on them?

I think the issue is very simple, it's competition for Rob hence his tone regarding the Vargas turbos.
