I was driving it for about 1 1/2 hours in pretty hot weather around 100 and thats when it happened. I admit i wasnt exactly easy on it but at the same time i wasnt going all out. The pulls were very quick but still puts stress on the turbos. And the m has a huge disadvantage as far as aerodynamics go, and the amg cant match the torque curve of the 3

Fwiw I beaten an x5m from a roll twice with only Cobb stage 1, and an x6m. Only by a car or so from a 60-140.

I'm happy to see these turbos doing well. It'll be my time next summer.

Just to be clear, OP has some before dyno numbers available, correct? If not there's not going to be anyway of telling the gains of just the turbos.

Also, I'm betting boost leak. Probably IC or CP connection.

I could see walking an X6M... They are pretty heavy. An E85 tune will do over 400whp on stock turbos. Probably what, 420whp plus with these...

    That's what I'm saying. A stock X5M I guess, but after 75 mph there's no shot you pull on an AMG Black with Stage 1 Turbos. That's a n/a V8 pumping out more power than a FBO+Meth N54. If you're beating the CLK63, you're beating S85 M5/M6s

$8/gal.. $2.11 a liter, i'd be so happy to run race gas if it were so cheap here!

98/100 e10 here (RON) is $1.5x/Liter Click here to enlarge

I think a tuned n54 with E85 and an FMIC can at least hang with all of those cars. With DPs, larger compressor, and meth it should have no problem at all. Not sure if the OP is using E85 though...

I'm with you on that. Something on the pressurized size popped. Hopefully an easy fix in any case.

S85 M5's and M6's arent really an issue unless going to 200mph lol. I was pretty even with my buddies m5 that has a couple of bolt ons in 80+ degree weather, my car is fbo, stock catback exhaust, and had a 20 or 25% e85 mix at the time. The vid is somewhere in the kill section....so with upgraded turbos and more boost, i could def see it happening....Hell, even with fbo, stock turbos, and meth it would happen.

FBO E85 mix no meth.. I've had 0 problems easily pulling x5ms, bolt on e63 m6s, bolt on e60 m5s at higher speeds, with a passenger full tank and some junk in the trunk. For OP to say it was like they weren't even moving is definitely farfetched, but all should be wins..

That being said I don't think these will provide any "big" gains, but will be a far superior option when it comes to replacing OEM turbos.

Great job Vargas.. Keep it up.

Agreed, not sure if you read above. Dyno time is scheduled. Car is being dropped off today for a no boost condition, as soon as I get it figured it out we will run it.

I am thinking the same or for some reason the DME is holding the gates open. Does limp home mode do that? I don't know enough about the DME controls to know exactly what limp home mode does as far as reducing power.
