I wouldn't really call that taking it to the Camaro.

Both in the mid 14s is pretty comical unless this was filmed on top of a 10k foot mountain.

That is at Palm Beach International Raceway where conditions aren't really favorable yet. I'm actually not surprised by those slow times at all, but I reckon there is about another half a second in there in cooler weather.

That's pretty sad for the Camaro although it is the faster car. Sad that it's faster by so little as well.

Woooow.. Just caught that sh*t. That's the last thing I would expect from a F01 7 series owner.

You really think it could close the gap with a E39 M5 modding the 740i? I test drove one to kill some time at the dealer and found the performance to be pretty laughable. It was a nice ride and I'm sure the fuel economy is reasonable, but performance really seemed to be the last aspect they considered in development. I'd be curious to know how much performance it would gain with the standard N54 mods on the big F01. That's very respectable if it could hold off the M5 in a strait line.

true but I think the S class AMG's are more performance oriented then the BMW 7 series..I also think that people who are buying AMG cars, are more inclined to take their car to the drag strip than the average owner of a 7 series

Yes and no, they are both boats with powerplants making a lot of torque. The BMW likely even feels tighter than the AMG despite not being an M simply because of how BMW's and Mercedes usually feel.

Obviously raw power is in the AMG's favor but these cars can be dragged.

True, that used to be the case with most Mercedes versus BMW's but with the new BMW turbo motors and how heavy the cars are this changing. M is becoming AMG.
