Active Autowerke Level 4 Low Compression Built Motor E90 M3 Supercharged C38 92 trim Results (video, Dyno)

    BB Members,

We did some testing on customer's lower compression E90 M3 using our Rotrex c38 92 trim blower. For the size of the blower it did very well with an excellent hp and tq curve and is a absolute beast in the street.

This Car features our Active Autowerke Supercharger kit with meth and Active Autowerke catless Exhaust system!

Just for the other Forum guys I have included a mustang dyno I did right before driving it over to 3rd party dynojet.

Please Note!: All dyno jet runs are in SAE With 0 Smoothing and 8300 rpm limiter

    Run1:

Run3: I put the fan on the filter since the fans weren't all that great at this shop and look at the results!

Mustang Dyno Run within hours of the dyno jet run.

Active Autowerke Stage IV / Level 4 supercharged M3, more details?

Hi @Andrew@activeautowerke you mentioned this M3 setup before. I'm personally curious as a built motor / supercharged M3 owner as are others regarding this build. Would be great if you could share some details.

This is the car in action here:

Ok, so 560 wheel or so.

The curve is obviously great but why not more peak power?

    Same question.

Also, who did the motor build? Is it sleeved? Engine specs?

Same Rotrex as the Evolve build?? And for a low-compression the tune seems VERY conservative if it's 570 WHP/ 380 WTQ with Meth since the VF650 is ~550 WHP/350 WTQ on a Stock Motor (requires 93 octane & aftermarket CBE)

I think we have established the blowers have different curves.

That is the million dollar question and we are looking for the best solution.

The engine is sleeved with lower compression pistons built by us.

I feel the engine will make more power on stock compression, but we built this engine for high horsepower so it will be needed when we find the right blower.

    Rpm is still 8100

Evolve's numbers aren't that far behind -- That's why I asked if it was the same blower they're using

Edit: Just saw the blower they're using isn't going to be the final product

What other blowers are you considering?

Why are you keeping the rev limit at 8100?

Good stuff Andrew. It must be a setup with having reliability in mind.
I would like to get the answers sticky asked too. Others rev it to 8600, you guys dropped the limiter to 8100? Does the power drop after 8100?

Higher revs higher charger speed, maybe they spinning it to close to the limit.

Im sorry this car was set to 8300 Rpm

Reason why we lower the rpm limiter is to reduce over spinning the blower and the car already has bearing issues and its not worth the risk to make a couple more hp.

I'd like to hear more from you on the bearing issues. Do you believe it is due to the stock oil system not providing enough lubrication?

I believe it is a bearing clearance and or material issue.
