You are my hero for buying those downpipes, if cost wasn't a factor I would have bought them too. The sound with the downpipes is GREAT it's just that rasp around 5k that ruins it - so if those resonators work for cleaning up the rasp your setup will be great.

Here some old cell phone video.. sound better under load aswell. But i personally love it.

I went from my AE exhaust with AR catless dps to bone stock stock rear exhaust with AR dps after 3 years of owning it. Just didn't enjoy the booming sound anymore which was apparent on my car. Coupes seem to do better though. Then, a great deal on an HKS Legamax came around and I had to try it. Worked out better than the AE due to the large mufflers they have and the H-pipe and I'm now really happy with it.

    Here's a review:

@5soko Do you have a video of the car under load? I think that'll be the best way for everyone to asses what they think about the raspy note. You can hear it coming through from the revving, but it's more apparent under load.

Eh good thing I went with the CP-e highflow catted DPs. I have the Dinan axle back exhaust and the sound doubled but sounds solid and nice, no rasp, no drone, and no aweful smell.

Next project is to replace the already restrictive "mid pipes" with the "rear catts" with a smoother pipe layout with resignators instead.

I'm leaning towards a modified stock exhaust, I dunno. The main thing I hate is how loud it is on a cold start....If it wasn't so loud on a cold start I prob wouldn't care

Be careful when choosing mufflers if your not staying with stock, that is what will cause your drone. Anyone try billy boat mufflers?

Damn you guys are getting too old lol. My 335i had the Remus Race mufflers "US sound" and 3inch catless downpipes and that $#@! was way too quiet for me. I'm about to purchase the Full Berk Race Exhaust for 135i, of course I will be installing 3" downpipes also. I cant wait!!!!!

I love my simple combo of exhaust from 335IS and AE downpipes. Stock-quiet at cruising speeds and screaming at anything over 4000k. Also there's exhaust flap as well.

    Here is a flyby:
    http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a85/muso2/?action=view&current=500hp335iLCIM-SportHighspeedflybyLOUD-YouTube.mp4

N54, CP-E DP's, no secondary cats, no resonator, divorced piping (no x-pipe)
From driving and hearing it in person, there is a touch of rasp at high RPM's, almost 0 drone whatsoever while cruising.

yup! lol, i've seen/heard this car in person, and it is quieter than mine...must be the resonator on the sedans in place of the crosspipe that the e92's have.
