    So here's a little update on Sal's stage 2.

Sal's car came in with some issues that we had to take care of before we got into turbo charging his engine. we found that his car was making low compression on a few cylinders due to a blown head gasket.

so the head had to come off.

We sent the head out to the guys at M&B to get cleaned up and decked. we then cleaned up and straight edged the block to make sure we would get a good seal on the new gasket. i tried to get a few pics of the cleaned up head but by the time i found out it was here Chris K had it back on already. good news is that Sal is getting a new OEM head gasket and our L19 headstuds to make sure this doesn't happen again anytime soon.

after that Chris K put in his Stage 2 clutch and got to work on his subframe reinforcement

    subframe out and bushings installed.

Chris K welding the plates in. ooooooooh fancy action shot!

some of the finished product. this will get a layer of undercoating put over it before the subframe goes back on so that it doesn't rust.

while we had the subframe out we noticed that Sal's differential mount bushings were toast.

so hes going to be getting a set of solid aluminum diff mounts so that this will never happen again. yay for upgrades!!! :woot::woot:.

thats about all we have for now on this car. heads back on except for the vanos unit (which is at doc vanos being repaired). as soon as we get that back we will be putting his turbo kit on the car. Sal has also opted into the HPF Ti exhaust instead of his current setup.

    more to come!!!

The turbo kit is pretty much completely on the car. we, at the time this pic was taken, were still waiting for the vanos unit to come back from Doc Vanos. that came in yesterday and the cams and vanos are going back in today.

    Methanol for more POAWAAAAAAH!!!! :ben:

Intercooler and piping is in and ready to go.

This is my personal favorite part of these kits. a little sneaky pete if you will. Click here to enlarge It's a secret. The methanol activation switch is so cool because unlike the seemingly arduous task of draining your tank and filling it with race gas and driving around till you can change to your race gas map, this little baby allows you to instantly go from 450whp (stage 1 pump gas) to as high as 580 whp (stage 2 pump meth) with the flick of this tiny little switch.

Sal has opted for this and a few other goodies including the HPF fan clutch, oil cooler, Ti exhaust, and open dump mod. You east coasters better be watching out for this car. More to come next week. We will hopefully have dyno numbers by then. Click here to enlargeClick here to enlargeClick here to enlarge

I would love to see and hear this video without the music. The music ruined it for me.

The music is turned down when the car does the pull and there are a whole ton of videos of HPF cars out there without music.

Greg at HPF told me to watch/listen to this video specifically because I am thinking about this particular setup. I also want to hear idle and the car going through gear. No music solves all of that.

Whoever has been editing the HPF movies and posting photos lately...should know we only care about the rawness...not some ghey tune.
