    My Supercharger and I.. - ESS 535 E92 M3 DCT supercharger kit

    Greetings,

The rumors are true, I did get a supercharger installed.

What will come as a suprise to all of you, is what kit I settled on. The deciding factor was not cost, was not company, was not reputation. It was TIME. Plain and simple. For those of you close friends, you already know what I mean by that. All those factors boiled down to time.

I am a fan of the E9x M3 and love driving it every chance I get. To add boost is just a bonus.

I chose an ESS 535 kit.

    After a few short days:

My original plan, was to pick the car up, and within the same week, head over to the DJ dyno to get our delta.

The pump issue held me back and now have to wait for another open day. Not a big deal as it gave me time to go ahead and install the CM meth kit that I had left over from the 335.
Matt was kind enough to tap the blower for the nozzle, making everything look like its meant to be

Its the basic kit, boost switch activated at 2.5-3 psi. CM5 nozzle. about 70-80% meth content. Trunkmount tank in the rear for now. I plan on waiting for a stealth install tank to really clean it up.

The most intriguing part of all of this is boost

PROPERLY MEASURED, my stock pulley comes out to 102mm.

I am currently seeing 5.5-5.8 psi though. I was under the impression I should see about 4.5 psi. Im ok with that, but now understand why some facts and figures are skewed.

I have an upgraded pulley and belt waiting for me, but i will not put it on until i have a true dyno/delta with this setup, both pump and pump/meth.

Once I have that I will upgrade and retest pump, pump/meth

Sadly, I do not yet have any quantifiable 1/4 mile times or traps. I wake everyday to see if weather and my work schedule will allow me to go and get even a few clean runs in.

Even more depressing, is that all these local cars that were "mean-mugging" prior to the install, are nowhere to be found.. They must know Click here to enlarge I have 2 gopro's now and they stay in the car within reach for the oppurtunity to make someone famous Click here to enlarge

The car feels strong. I estimate about 120-122 traps. It feels about as fast as my 335 on 17.5 pump/meth
It delivers the power completly differently though. 2 different cars, need to be driven differently to be effective.

I really wish the M3 came with this much power N/A, it would be one hell of a OEM car.

Im available to answer any and all questions. Click here to enlarge

its the lowest kit they offer, non-intercooled.. Thats why actual boost is higher than expected. Also why the meth kit went in right away. keep those IATS in check Click here to enlarge

I havent logged it. ive only been WOT a few times from the pump issue. Its on my to-do list though. I have a toggle switch for meth so its easy to grab a delta

    Nice.

ESS have recirculated to the compressor inlet, which I think is pretty nice from a drivability standpoint.

Im always searching for more power brother!

I have a few "life" priorities to address first though.

I went with the most basic, readily available kit for a reason. Once I actually get to see how the car performs, i can judge just how much more i want/need. Im sure that my first loss to a VF620, AA Stg2,Evolve, Gintani Stg2+ or ESS 625 kit, will make me evaluate my options pretty quickly though Click here to enlarge

But again, I need to see what the car has in it as it stands now

I like the choice in mods....I'd also go meth with no ic and low boost. What do you plan on pulling it down to 8-9psi?

Dont need an intercooler if you are spraying meth.

I won't go above 7.5 psi, at least not right now. I don't know if the dct would handle it. If there was a viable upgrade, I would. That is months away at this point. Im interested in seeing how VAC pushes the envelope, engine wise. If sticky and the dct ever plays out, I would do that then a built motor.

Currently, I have no plans to be a tester on anything major.

If you go up to 7,5 PSI you will have app the same power as i have , but without the larger injectors and intercooler , completely relaing on the methinjection to keep the motor safe, i would`t do that without a blowofff valve or a piggy that is pulling timing if the meth is failing.
Looking forward to see how your car will perform..
