    Intake manifold and other things

Good news, I have a business name: Morkin Design & Performance, and I am putting up a web sight this weekend Here is my logo: Click here to enlarge

Also, the basic intake manifold will be finished in a high temp wrinkle black... here is an example:

However I am offering, as an option, a high performance ceramic coating as well.

Intake temps increase because of hot intake manifold which becomes hot especially by heat conducting from the head. A very efficient and cheap way to decrease the IATs has been to replace a steel gasket by a thicker phenolic gasket that is a great insulator.

Yep I agree, it will be in the kit too. I'm having the prototype cut as we speak by a buddy of mine.

No, as long as you don't link or advertise. This thread is one big advertisement.

Sorry, you can change my status to guest vendor if you feel it is time to do so. I want to stay within the rules so that it will not hamper anything in the future when I become vendor. I wasn't trying to advertise.

I think it proved too difficult and matt moved on to a different platform.

Heard he's working on the EcoBoost -- a potentially far larger market.

Yes, I have been working on the Ecoboost platform, but it is slow moving because no one wants to void their warranty. I am working with Vargas to bring his parts to the N54 platform. We have spoken both about the twin turbo and intake manifold. My strengths are in helping people bring their manufactured goods to the market, I struggle in other areas because I do not posses the infrastructure and time to completely bring an entire turbo kit to the market. Between Vargas and myself, we should be able to do sone good stuff.

Does this mean you will be manufacturing both manifolds? Or just supplying the designs?

    Hows the update on this.

Get an SLA proto made, reinforce it with some fiberglass and resin and test it out on a car.

There are many foundries in the US, depending on your final design of this - a permanent steel mold would do great for making this. Great surface finish, minimal machining in the end and clean.

Sadly, I have put this on hold because I am working on the Ecoboost F150. My tuner and I are about to invest in a truck for development. I have a point at which I would like to get back to this, but I am no where close to that right now. My resources are tied up into the Ecoboost right now. For the manifold, I was planing on a green sand mold and if it sold well doing loss wax. A Permanent mold would be cool too, but even expensive for me to make. I can machine a loss wax mold out of a solid block of Aluminum in house, and air set sand is the universal foundry technique, but needs more machining and finishing. I am still planing a N54 manifold because I would love a N54 Texas Mile Car/Land speed car, at least that is my goal.
