Thumbs up HPF NEXT GENERATION E46 M3 Clutch Disk PICS

Sound Performance pushed the limits of our Stage 3 clutch with 323tom's S54 Monster running Nitrous and over 800 ft-lbs of torque. The Feramic friction material held, but the hub center section didn't. We have been running a much stronger hub center section on all of our N54 (BMW 135 and 335) clutches and never had the need to upgrade our HPF clutch center sections. That is until now.
Clutches are typically rated by the Torque the motor provides, not by horsepower. We've run over 1,000rwhp on the HPF stage 3 clutches but not over 800 ft-lbs. Now that our customers are achieving over 800 ft-lbs, our NEXT GENERATION HPF E46 M3 Clutches are going to run a "riveted" center section similar to our N54 clutch disk in the image below. All HPF E46 M3 Clutches shipped from now on will be utilizing the NEXT GENERATION center sections.

Some people live long, meaningful lives.

Other people eat shit and die.

I'm not racist, I hate everybody equally; especially fat people.

Not sure. We've sold over 500 HPF Toyota Supra FERAMIC clutches with the rivited center sections. Many of those guys are well over 1,000rwhp and have run 9's in the 1/4 mile with them.

Affirmative. SP in Chicago tore out the center of a Stage 3 Feramic disc! during a Dyno run! The disc was holding but the pressed-in center stripped and spun in the disc itself, right at 800 ft lbs of TQ on an HPF Stage 4 with a 125 shot or NOS.

My shop flipped when they saw this and wasted no time in procuring a new riveted feramic disc for my stage 3 clutch. They absolutely insisted I get one so I ended up with free installation at least.
The shock of a hard drag strip launch could spin the first generation disc centers I can see that happening.

Like Chris posted, ALL newly sold Stages of Feramic clutches will come with the disc having a riveted center. (Almost)Anybody can retrofit their HPF clutch pack with the new disc. A heavily worn clutch may have to get some pressure plate resurfacing. IDK. Ask.
