I just fixed my damn browser.
My permissions weren't allowing me to view the iniquity.

Thats a nice old 3 there Bob.
She looks like she could use some help getting around and a little bit of a facelift (or a chassis drop.)

Has the new door shown up yet?

Door came in. I will be working on he car this weekend. Milkt, the car is already dropped, believe it or not. It's got bilsteins and H&R's. I will be having the car painted, as soon as I get it running right and on the road...must install intercooler as well. I need to call Don...will do that now.

Edit: M3 is almost ready for it's first engine fire up.

^ You are keeping the same color just giving it a fresh paint job, correct?

Well, she's going to get the $200 Maaco special, the next time they run it. I will prep the car myself. The PO has hennarot paint that he was supposed to give me. Of course he didn't have it when I picked up the car. So, if he ever send it to me, I will use it. Otherwise, I'll use whatever the next closest match is that Maaco offers.

Side note, today I swapped a new drivers door on the car and moved the lock tumbler over as well. It's such an easy car to work on...I am loving it. I have it up on jack stands in the driveway, ready for some major surgery. I still haven't decided what I am doing about the engine / turbo. I may just swap in an S50 / S52...we'll see.

And S50 or S52 swap sounds kind of nice... Click here to enlarge

Is the Maaco paint job any good? Don't take that the wrong way, I just never really even thought of them as a viable option.

The only problem with the s50 swap is that it will really throw off the front to back weight ratio.

Maaco shops are independently owned...so each one will have different results. A few years ago, I prepped and old Ford Taurus, took it to the Local Maaco and had it painted for $200. The paint job was phenomenal. Better than when the car was new. The 320is is not a show car, it's a beater / project. So for $200, you can't go wrong.

    What is the weight difference?

I see, I didn't realize that about Maaco. Who owns it will definitely make a difference.

Hmm... that is a substantial difference. I'd say S14 but that is a pretty expensive proposition. I still say you do the S50 Click here to enlarge

The all aluminum motor is about 66lbs lighter the 418lbs m52 with iron block. This weight is with all accessories on the motor.

Still too heavy... the M20 could be used with an S50 crank.

Yup I believe Ireland engineering sells a kit. I think its comes with a s50 crank, rods, and pistons. I'm not sure 100% sure about the rods and pistons. A friend of boosted325is has a motor setup like that for sale in a e30.

Not familiar with Ireland engineering, how much does that setup cost?

Its 2k not worth it. For that money Bob can pick up a m52 with many other goodies. Just my take on it. Or he can pickup the parts for doing the swap on his own instead of buying it from them.
