There is no doubt this car is very very fast in a road course, but I wish I could find out for how long? How long can it last with that stressed out supercharger?

Do we know if the magazines who test these cars out run many laps on them? Or is it just a 1-2 times a day ordeal? until they get the best lap time? It would be interesting to see how much the time of the Camaro is affected lap after lap, then compare to other cars such as the M3.
The ring really is becoming a power course. Not to mention conditions affects laptimes. Is the GTS time set in stone? Can it improve in better weather, with better tires, with a different driver, etc.? Do you really believe the ZL-1 can beat the Ford GT? I don't. It isn't beating a lighter mid-engine car that is also faster in a straight line.

The GTS will win on a tighter course and fairly easily. The Camaro is quick, it still is a boat.

I think magazines go by the best time.

You seriously are so stupid you can't read? It's unbelievable how hard you owned yourself. You look like you are mildly retarded at this point.

Not only is the engine not supercharged as the specifications clearly state you should have been able to tell from the picture as there is no damn supercharger on the motor.

The engine featured in these Cadillac CTS-V.R race cars is the GM 6.2L naturally aspirated V8 and closely resembles the 6.2L supercharged engine which comes standard in Cadillac’s production version of the CTS-V.

Ah I see. American cars can rape on tracks, I agree. I thought th argument was about the zl1 being a road course car. Obviously it lays down amazing times but unless stripped like the CTS v car above. But for the average joe to enter races with it seems to heavy for any lengthy races

Thats is exactly what I am saying. The ZL1 isn't a road course car but it can drive like one. Nobody is going to enter it in a road race. I never said that. The CTS-V thing I posted because I get pleasure from arguing and disrespecting Joseph. He hates anything thats not an e92 M3

If a car manufacturer want to build a track version of regular car, they should start with a car that is the closest to a track car. I bet BMW can make a hardcore X6M CSL that can be as fast as a ZL-1. But does that make sense? With less effort they can make a version of M3 that is able to set the fastest lap time. And with half of that effort, you can send a Caterham into 6's.

The other important part is building a car that most drivers can be fast with it. I highly doubt that normal people who are the %99 of the ZL-1 buyers, can be fast with ZL-1 though i bet the same people can do a lot better with a car like Lotus.

Out of curiosity, have you heard anything about heat soak on zl1's? I know the older gt500s had issues. Has the ZR1 had issues with it?
