Superb pics. I don't know what camera you are using but it is very easy to see all the details. Motor looks beautiful, are you doing all the work yourself?

Don't have the camera with me right now so I don't know what it is.

I've been removing the engine from the car and disassembling the motor. Osh and I are going to re-assemble it together. I don't have enough experience to do it on my own. I'm excited to see this come together!

Block is fully disassembled. Pistons are out, crank is out. Should be able to drop her off Monday morning. Not sure what the turn around is for honing. I'm assuming it's not long, as long as the machine shop isn't backed up. Then we can begin assembling. I am really hoping to have the engine built by the end of next week. Wish me luck on meeting my deadline!

Ok, here's a few more pictures for you guys. Last pics for this week. Next set of pics will be of the rods when they arrive and the block when it comes back from the machine shop.

I will also be purchasing the rod bearings next week and we will be coating them with Molybdenum Disulfide. Same coating used on the skirts of the pistons.

    Few pics of the block

Here's a little update for you guys. The rods came in from pauter today. Pictures will come tonight. Finished degreasing the block this morning and it will be off to the machine shop first thing Monday morning. I should have it back by Friday next week and then reassembly will begin. I'm excited to see this engine finally coming together.

    Here's the box.

I don't want to take any pics just yet. The rods are packed away so nicely. Pauter definitely has packaging down! Pics when the block comes back.

Ok, here's a little update for you guys. I finally got all the parts together. My block is bored for the new pistons.

We are coating the main bearings and the rod bearings. We were going to do it here but it has proven to be very difficult to get the right finish so far. We decided to send them out to get coated professionally. I'm going to call arias on Monday to see if the will do it. If so, I should have the bearings back next week and my engine assembled next Saturday.

Also, you guys will get to see the wheels I designed for my car pretty soon! Getting ready for MFest.

I haven't made them yet. I just have the design in the cad software. I'm working on a rendering of them on the car before I make them. I'll post it when I'm done. After I make them, I'll decide if I want to put the design into production. It would be kinda nice knowing I have the only set in the world. Click here to enlarge

It is awesome. I am very fortunate to work where I do and have access to all these great machines. And I wouldn't be able to do this without the guys who taught me how to do it all.

I am very anxious to start on these wheels. Who wants to start the betting on how wide of a wheel
I can fit on the back of my m3? 18"x??"

Batta, do you post from an iPhone?

Doesn't have to be to wide. A 305 tire can fit on 9,5-11in wheel.
Yeah I'm always on iPhone that's why I sound like a retart sometime.

My computer died and I'm not home much. So if I didn't use iPhone I wouldn't post much.

I'll probably try to fit an 11" rear.

I understand now why your sentences sometimes break and continue on the line below it. Damn that return button. Lol.

always on my phone. When I try to type fast it can get scary with that damn return button and autocorrect.

    I will do that.

Another change in plans. We were messing around with the spray gun settings and the coating material this morning. We found an optimum pressure/material feed/temperature to spray at. These parts came out perfectly. Pictures of the freshly coated bearings on Monday after we bake them. They need to be cured at 300f for an hour.
