What is a HGP Golf R exactly? Impressive but what is done to it?

HGP tuned MKVI Golf R DSG takes on a P31 Performance Package W204 C63 AMG

The C63 AMG with the P31 Performance Package is a very formidable car putting down just under the 400 wheel horsepower mark stock. For a Golf R to be able to run with a P31 C63 from a roll it is going to need some serious upgrades and this Golf R definitely has some work done to it courtesy of German tuner HGP. We do not have the exact specs but according to HGP's website their highest tuning package for the Golf R offers 446 horsepower which is exactly what it would take for a DSG Golf R to be able to run door to door with a P31 C63.

The 446 horsepower package offers a thicker headgasket to drop compression, upgraded Garret turbo, remapped DSG shifting, downpipe, exhaust, upgraded intercooler, larger throttle body, airbox, and of course a tune. All it would take for the C63 though would be a tune, headers, and exhaust to be able to pull this particular Golf R.

Not bad! Benz sounds good as always. The new golf R is a couple hundred lbs lighter but no DSG. but with the new turbo 4 im sure people will be modding them all day

... same as any other dyno right? Take it for what it's worth.

Yes. Just pointing out dynos vary. We could use more p31 runs.

Agreed... we do need more and I will do it with mine once I tune it but it will not be for a while as I will upgrade other items first for track use.
