    bobS,

Yeah, I switched down to Stage 2+FMIC Sport map. The car feels a bit better but the oscillations are still there. The map won't cure those. Its all about the internal logic of the flash...

As for the current M3, I am not jumping the gun on it. I know the prices will drop once the new one comes out. Besides, I will need to test drive it extensively before I spend the money.

Anyway, the topic of the thread was about GIAC and their attempt to stay in touch with the demands of their customers. Their app also works on Android and iOS. The upcoming release will contain things like Boost Gauge and all monitoring for all kinds of other engine parameters, which I think is pretty cool!

When has it never happened that a new car did not push the value of an old car down?

Is the 997.1 turbo a piece of junk because the 991 is on the way? It's value will get pushed down as well, it is how it is.

OT, but the S65 feels just as fast as my COBB Stage 2+ did.

Probably because the N54 torque drops off massively up top whereas the S65 has a flat torque curve throughout. I'm sure down low, the S65 struggles.

Not when I test drove two different m3's, not even close. It reminded me of my old 350z, made a lot of noise but didn't go that fast. The looks and handling though of the m3 are top notch.

I'm not saying the m is the same speed as a z, but I just couldn't live without the tq. By the end of the test drive, I missed my 335.

    Anyway back on topic........

I spent time with my cousins 335 and it sucked compared to the m3. The torque is in your head and the response of the 335 blows. I would never take any 335 over the m3.

Just got back from a 2-day AutoX event. Running v3.01 firmware with Stage 2+FMIC Sport. Car is doing A LOT better than before, but boost oscillations are killing it for me.

Cobb, please, pretty please, get the ATR out the door and the new maps.

I guess the good trap speeds and going sideway whenever wot under 60 was in my head too.

I test drove an e92 M3 last month. It felt very slow. Sure, it sounded great and handled amazingly but I've beaten enough M3 to know that the torque is not in my head. The dyno proves it too actually.
With that being said, I also test drove a C63 that day too and all I can say is WOW. That car is amazing! I think it would be a fairly close race between my 335i and a stock C63. A lot closer than any M3 I've raced.

Your trap speeds weren't anything impressive and right there with bolt on S65's from what I recall? So yes, in your head and exaggerated as most N54 owners claims versus M3's are.

The 335 felt slow to me. I never really heard of the M3 being very slow especially considering how much faster it is stock for stock.

Dyno doesn't show you the gearing in each gear which the M3 has munch better gearing. People don't get it and it is fine.

Funny how the C63 felt so amazing yet it and the M3 is neck and neck stock for stock.

Pump for pump my traps were faster, race or meth they were faster as well. Please stop referring to dress sac traps as we all know there were bull$#@! along with the n54 traps hit there. Erm hit 116 na at atco, lm hit 115-116 there as well.

Oh yeah, the >600NM torque of a tuned N54 are only in the head, and BMW has reinvented gearing to cover up the lack of torque of the S65...yeah, right.

At some point it just gets old.

I like trolling for M3s while cruising. It was really fun when I had a HKS BOV.

One time I got behind one on a two lane tollway and he took off. Well, he tried to, I just stayed behind him, psssss psssss psssss. As soon as the road opened up, he took the first exit, lol.

However you need to explain away that m3's with bolt ons out trapped you with less power. Impressive torque in practice.

LM ran a canned tune btw.

ExPlain away? Add 3-4 mph to my trap and you got a 120 plus car at sac on pump only with full weight and street tires. Reality is knocking, you keep choosing to ignore it. Unless the m3 goes fi it gets rapped by modded stock turbo n54s.

Well, I drove there in my JB4 + FBO + Meth 335i so the M3 is alot slower.

My 335i 407 HP/455 TQ at the wheels: curb weight 3,571
    08 e92 M3 414 HP/295 TQ at the crank: curb weight 3,704
    10 C63 443 HP/451 TQ at the crank: curb weight 3,924

Just ask any of the M3s I've smoked, the torque isn't in anyone's head.
The C63 also has 29 more HP and 156 more TQ than the M3.

Someone post a race of a stock M3 and stock C63 please!
