Max PSI S54 turbo kit running on the stock DME, tuned by Nick G of Technique Tuning - Video at 7 psi

Was not sure if this was still coming as no major updates have really come. These runs are through 7 psi and they have hit up to 8 on the stock DME which is pretty damn good.

Nick G is the right choice to tune. I wasn't sure how they were going to do this considering nobody else was able to but with Nick G involved I'm way more confident as he seems to be the factory DME turbo tuning guru on E46's.

2002 BMW M3 with stock engine running the Maximum PSI turbo kit. 2 Runs through 2nd and 3rd gear with 7psi of boost. The kit can run 8.5psi of boost on the stock engine and utilizes the factory DME with recalibrated software by Technique Tuning.

Well on stock internals I think we have seen up to 16 with a decent sized turbo?

Didn't HPF build a custom stage 1 M3 with 18 psi peak boost recently?

i run 8psi on stock internals and feel uncomfortable about it!! LOL!!! think id push it to 10psi on a centrifugal s/c setup as most of the time the motor is seeing low boost plus the Tq is low.....

Why do you feel uncomfortable about 8 psi?

I was under the impression that power output, not psi, is what kills an engine. big turbo on low boost flowing a ton of air through the engine will break down an engine pretty quick.

I think that was on E85, but I don't think thats enough to justify an extra 10 psi. Sounds sketchy to me either way, I don't think I would boost an S54 without a lower compression built motor anyway.

I'm kind of liking the idea of high compression turbo...

What are the benefits of having a higher comp motor vs. a lower comp motor?
