    Question VRSF DP issue

So I had my roommate install my VRSF DP's today. He is a service tech for VW and has also worked for Audi, so I have faith in his skills to do a simple job like this. Well, he told me one of the DP's went on smoothly, but the other was an absolute pain to fit, and after he got it in, it now rubs on one of the transmission bolts Click here to enlarge Has anyone else had this issue, and if so what was the fix? FYI, I left the DP's on (roommate is going to try to fix them monday), and they are incredible, minus the rattle from the tranny bolt. Definitely a change in exhaust tone and power!

Get a hammer and clearance it. That's the price you pay with Chinese stuff. Not everything is going to be perfect every time.

The problem isn't the install as much as the DP's.

Those dp's suck. All the people who said they fit Perfect never installed a set. The only way I've been able to get them to not rattle was to leave the brace the holds the two exhaust pipes loose. If you tighten it down it pulls the dp's together. I emailed tiago about this and he was an $#@!, and told me I had no idea what I was doing. I had a set on my car for 4 weeks and got rid of them. Even lost a relationship with a customer because of them. They equal 3" racelands to me. I only recommend AR dp's. Anybody who's they can't see a quality difference is lying to themselves /rant

I installed them myself and didn't have any fitment issues, leaks or noises, the vast majority of my time was spent actually taking the OEM ones out..

Always stated to be a high quality option as well from what I've seen. Saw their parts in person, looked like they put in the effort with time and materials.

I have no first hand experience with them at this time. @BuraQ was planning on ordering them. I'll be able to give my opinions then.

The problem was, both sets I had issues with both came from the same batch that was rushed. I wasn't the only one who complained to Tiago about that batch. Tiago refused to take responsibility for it. I have a buddy that has some and they are fine. Seems hit or miss. They definitely don't slide in as nice as other brands though.

Damn if that's true then I guess VRSF's lifetime guarantee isn't worth too much.

CPEs are great. We helped them solve the problem with their XI pipes not fitting. Someones head rolled there because they almost shipped out $250k worth of product that was botched.

Glad you guys helped... that would have been quite a large issue.

Well, I talked to Tiago. He is going to send me a new set to try on, and then if they don't work he is going to offer me a full refund. At least the customer support seems to be there somewhat.

I installed my cp-e myself and had no fittment issues, only thing i remember was I had to somewhat stretch the O2 cabling. I have catted DPs and maybe those have a diffrent O2 sensor bung placement.

The quality was amazing, the cast part is beautiful Click here to enlarge

I had RR's, and always debated going with AR. It wasnt until recently I actually saw a set and saw the difference. I dont know why people dont buy what is actually better

CP-E is the only other option one should consider if not AR

I finally pulled my cp-e DP out of their box, man they are really nice, you can tell there is a high attention to detail on them.

Matt Schnell's are just as good as AR. I've never heard anyone say thiers didn't fit. My shop was amazad at the craftsmanship when they put them on.

I also have never heard anything bad about AA DPs. I've never had them so I don't know first hand.

I installed VSRF's with no issues, perhaps there was an issue with a certain "rushed" batch as mentioned. If so, that's still something to be concerned with...I wouldn't want to be part of any rushed orders with them.

That is good support and reasonable.

FWIW, I had my AR DPs installed by a very competent shop; guess what?? They had to make a small dimple becuase it made contact with a bolt. So to say that cetain brands are without fitment problems becuase "You get what you pay for", isn't always the case.

Agreed, our cars have a certain amount of "play" in them as well.
