    The 1M should not have gotten a huge jump like that. That is the S85's race, took way too long to real in. Even with a JB4 the 1M is not out trapping a stock M6.

    Stock BMW E63 M6 versus modified BMW E82 1M with BMS (Burger Tunig) JB4 and Akrapovic Exhaust

    The BMW 1M in stock form is much slower than the previous generation E63 BMW M6 especially up top. The appeal of the 1M with its N54 engine partially is the modability of the turbo motor. This video is surprising as with it being a roll on race the circumstances favor the strength of the M6. However, the 1M jumps out to a fairly significant lead. It seemed to get on the gas quicker as well as being in a meatier part of the power band to start the race immediately pulling. The M6 does eventually run it down and pass as expected but it does take it a while to do so, check it out below.

    Hmmmm......remember the fastest early Ruf models eschewed the wider turbo bodies because of increased drag from the increased frontal area. Maybe a 135i would do better, especially if it had DCT?

    Saying methanol would seal the deal is like saying strapping on a JATO unit would seal the deal. Maybe the 1M was on OEM FMIC? That would be a top end killer pretty quickly.

    I really don't know what other work the 1M would need to walk away from an S85 up top... tall order even if it is stock. With some mods it really becomes a lot to ask of the stock turbos.
