I've got two Procs at my disposal off a good deal, still deciding on what to use/not use.

I think at the end of the day, it will probably be the 3770k because I just like it better Click here to enlarge

Case: Antec 1200 (recycling this from my brother who now has an 800D)Click here to enlarge
PSU: Corsair just sent me my RMA'd TX850W (non-modular so boo Click here to enlarge )
Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth Z77 Click here to enlarge
Memory: Crucial Ballistix 2x8gb DDR3 1600 (9-9-9-24 @ 1.5v) (I might change this out but it was the best I could find at microcenter)
GPU: using my GTX 295 until I think about what to get Click here to enlarge
HDD: Seagate 1TB for now until I grab an SSD ...if they get cheap enough with decent storage Click here to enlarge
    Procs: i7 3770k (or i7 2700k)
    Ah yes, the cooler!
Cooling: H100 with GT AP15s for the fans, much quieter than the stock H100 fans...those are extremely loud!

    PC FOR LIFE.

    It's the only way.

Install Skyrim, set it on Ultra and download the HD texture packs and ENB because you can.

The sad part is the bulk of the expense isn't even part of the build yet: SSD and the ub3r graphics card.

I'm calling it a night...when I installed a hard drive backwards and wondered why there were no connections...it was a clear sign Click here to enlarge

Well, I finished this guy up earlier today, ran into a few hiccups which were resolved, but overall, looks nice! I'm about to snag some pics and post 'em up.

I'm just missing the damn graphics power Click here to enlarge (i'm going to steal my brother's GTX 680 until he gets his ducks in a row...he's sitting in the office right now with his computer torn apart. Pipes, pumps, reservoirs everywhere).

Bravo!!! I stay away from the big drives and instead buy multiple small drives and back up stuff that way. Thats the only feedback I feel compelled to offer

I still build my own computers. Its not the cheapest way to go, but its damn fun. Every two years or so, I build a monster. I don't mean to thread hijack, but I just can't help but share my last build form July 2010!!! It was built for editing blu-ray vids:

1 COOLER MASTER COSMOS 1000 RC-1000-KSN1-GP Black/ Silver Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case

And I just swapped out my system drive a few weeks ago:

The gulftown was a lil pricy back in in 2010!!!

Probably the most expensive part of the build haha. Along with cooling it and making sure enough power is given! Love this computer tech talk.

Indeed, but the egg keeps your history and allows you to name the invoice for future reference. I am a tool like that, and I like to look back at my previous builds and such. I don't keep that detail anywhere else!

So I've tested both processors and I am keeping the ivy bridge.

    Stable clocks:

    Ivy bridge i7 3770k:
    4.4ghz @ 1.15v

    Sandy Bridge i7 2700k:
    4.4ghz @ 1.25v
5ghz @ 1.42v (temps were too high here, hitting almost 90C)

So I'm keeping the 3770k, selling the 2700k.
