Nope that should be about it Click here to enlarge The 33 psi boost you are running will only benefit from an aftermarket intercooler, and one with a good design will help your turbochargers and FMIC performance even more. A less restrictive (lower pressure drop FMIC) will reduce compressor speed for the same boost pressure. The bigger the restriction in front of the compressor, the faster it has spin (and generate more heat) to hit target manifold boost.

Can you find the compressor map for your turbo?

    Ok guys, here's the deal.

    Everything worked out great.......

For the silicone elbow, i had to cut 1/4-5/16" off of the 2.25" and 2.5" side. Use a hose clamp and a razor to make a smooth cut. this allows the hose to fit closer to the intercooler and not hit the fan shroud.

The aluminum pipes got cut down to have ~1.5" legs on each side. You have to play with everything by twisting, aligning the hoses and pipes until it all fits without tension.

here are a few shots of the process.

Thanks. The car pulls very nicely now, it does feel like it has much better top end than with the stock intercooler. i may be going to the track to see what she does in the 1/4mile before the tune.

Definitely get a baseline in the 1/4 mile and the dyno before you get your tune.

1/4 mile run shouldnt really be where it shines...if you log the car somehow and do back to back runs over and over and over on the highway you will see the how much better an aftermarket IC shines compared to the factory one which will heatsoak in one pass..

If this thing boosts 33 psi stock, what does the tune boost!?

I would have to agree with that. I had huge gains on my 996tt with intercoolers. I floored the car today for a long bit on the highway and it did not stop pulling. It felt MUCH better than with the stock intercooler.

There is a Deff increase in MPG about 45-47 mpg average. I do 95% highway driving. it also helps that these cars run sooo lean at idle because going slow in some traffic when i get to orlando is nothing.

You also have to remember that Florida is VERY flat so i'm never really going up any hill. I'm sure it would go way down if i had to deal with that.

I'll tell you what, call CX-Racing and ask them to sell you their 335i kit with different piping. Tell them you need two silicon 2.5" to 2.25" 45deg reducer elbows. For the pipes, tell them you need two 2.25" 45deg pipes with 1.5" legs including the bead role on each end. That should give you what you need to make it work on your car.

Why not? Tell them that is what's needed to provide a kit for the 335d and they'll now have a product to offer and make money.
