apparently the new software addresses an issue with the EGR and a transmission problem. E few people claim on other forums the tranny shifts way better after the update. I just picked my car up from the dealer and have not driven it much to feel a difference.
One of my complaints about the tranny is that while the engine is still cold in the morning shifting from 2nd to 3rd is at a higher RPM than usual and most of the time there is a mildly violent shift. The whole car shakes as if you drive over a pothole. I hope they fixed it with update.
For that reason I would switch the tranny in manual mode for a the first 5 minute of my morning drive so I can prevent any unpleasant gear change until the engine (and possibly the transmission) would warm up.
Once warmed up there is no perceived "wrong" shift.

Will see next week how the car behaves after the update.
Some people claim a slight increase in power too. I would attribute to the transmission doing a more effective job.

The code for the new software is campaign B13 04 12 program with 2.48.2
The last digits should be the software code.

Is there any way to get your dealer to explain in more detail how this update can be loaded without overwriting a tune? I've about had it with BMW on this issue - we seem to be way too much of a guinea pig for them as they blunder their way through their U.S. diesel program.

So far I haven't noticed any difference in the transmission's behavior. Seems just like before.

one two different occasions at the dealer, two different service reps told me the same thing about the software. I seriously doubt they know all the details on how to go around not messing up what you added on the ECU.
This last guy told me the mechanics can save the data by not wiping off the ECU.
I don't know how they can do it, but both said I need to let them know if anything is modified on the ECU beforehand so they don't mess it up.

I have no insight in what they can do or how the do it.
But if you have some sort of software update on your car I think it is better to let them know. 30 ponies less is better than no extra ponies at all.

    Nice work!
    How are you?
    Quick question
Did you use the original couplers for the turbo and throttle body connectors?
    Thanks

The guys at CX racing did it all. Piping, connectors and intercooler core. There is an area where there is a sensor inside a pipe where it couldn't be removed. See the pictures and description.

Thanks Dixy2k for the quick reply

I purchased a kit from CX (about 4-6 weeks back) and I realized they sold me the gas version and when I called them back they said they do not have the diesel version yet and I have to wait 6 weeks
Well, can't do that, so I have been trying to find a shop who can customize my setup but no one seems to wanna change the connectors on the turbo and throttle body. If I'm gonna spend more on custom piping than I paid for the kit, I want to have it done right, from start to end. Any idea on the connectors?
    Thanks

    Sounds a bit strange.
The diesel and gas kit are almost identical. The diesel kit was developed a year ago (on my car). Did you talk to Kevin at CX racing?

50 miles before the warranty expires my car is in the shop.
Engine malfunction. Reduced Power message on the display and Service engine soon light on.

As far as I can tell, there is no reduced power. Everything sounds and works ok when I step on it.

I took the car in last week for an oil change and a 27 point inspection. I really hope they didn't mess anything up.
I hope there is nothing mechanical, maybe some faulty computer codes.
I was thinking about the i/c, about those elbow connectors cracking or something, but again no loss of power that I can perceive anyway.

Hopefully I will find out tomorrow.

    Anybody had a similar experience?
