    Because its a 328i before 4000rpm. Did you watch his insideline video with more than 10 attempts to get a decent launch where it wouldnt bog? Spool rpm and time to reach a boost number at lower rpms is prob way off.

    Great for 60-130 but it must be a turd in city driving.

    I think with an auto and some load at the line he would do better... and with longer gearing.

    It's a tough spot because autos are capped at 6800rpm. He'd get some boost to ride off the line (esp with a different converter) which would help 60ft time but he'd be down on power from rpm loss. Stock gearing would be 3.46 with auto iirc (3.08 w/6mt).

    taller gearing (3.08) would probably slow him down a little or nothing at all. It wont make him faster unless he's falling out of the powerband or boost on shift points somehow with numerically higher gearing (3.46). He's all upper rpm power and that needs more gearing not less.

    His customer big single cars with autos and smaller turbos will likely out ET his car until it makes a ton more power but he'd beat them 60-130.

    Yes but is the gearing in each gear between the manual and auto the same?

    His 5th at 3.46 is quite close to stock MT 4th at 3.7, so comparing his fifth to stock 4th makes sense.

    That makes sense, seems drive-ability is somewhat of an issue with this setup.

    I think he is costing himself MPH though.
