    Well a slick will have higher rolling resistance than a radial but this isn't 4 mph or whatever. Plus many cars gain mph on slicks, if I wasn't on the iPad I would post a video showing this.

    Shiv is obviously going for ET above all else.

    The people mentioning this are just making excuses though. He's at sac on slicks with a 1.57 short time, no excuses.

    There used to be an old video around somewhere of one of my old manual trans cars (6spd) getting the right tire 10" off the line and around 2" on the 1->2 shift, on the way to a 10.80@132mph at Carlsbad (ice rink) raceway, so I know something about launching manuals and setting up drag suspension.
    What was the weight of the car, and how much power did it make to the wheels? Just for comparison purposes.

    I actually meant left (driver side) tire up there. But ~3300#, ~480rw, basic heads/cam setup with a 150 wet shot button activated. I held it in my left hand along with the steering wheel. It was a long time ago but I remember it was a relatively simple setup using many OEM parts. Granted, also live axle.

    FWIW same car later with a relatively small T70 QTrim (e.g. broad power band) @ 620rw only ran 133mph but it was one of those on the gas off the gas back on the gas clutch slipping type events. I think I pulled the trans after that for a TH400, started stealing parts from it for other cars, and never got back to it.

    His 60-130 shows he's making good power but the 1/4 mile mph is not there. It really could be the wrong final drive choice, however , it gets harder to gain mph after 130 but with 680 he should be able to have atleast a few traps by now at 133-135 and he doesn't (with the power he claims). It's odd.

    Evo's with 600 trap mid 130s easily some 140s... Similar weighted car per hp. Lame comparison but just an example.


    Erm trapped 132 right? With a $#@! ET (sorry Ricky :p ) and he shouldn't be over 600 whp and he's got a dct but shiv isn't driving like a newb not falling out of boost so the 6m isn't as much of a disadvantage as many Think WITH that 60 ft

    Looks like the N54 is up there with the DCT supercharged/meth S65 cars... with a standard and a hard to control torque curve.

    Seriously? So with a single turbo at 680 whp it hasn't even topped DCT M3's with far less wheel horsepower on stock internals, hold your horses. The built motors are going to so far ahead of this it won't be funny, the gap will widen again.

    Good for the N54 but here we go again with ridiculous statements and hyperbole as usual when the N54 is still playing catch up.

    Off topic but dollar for dollar spent I think n54 matches pretty well with s65.

    Overall there are a higher percentage of n54s faster than s65s. Just stirring the pot ! I know te m3s ess blowers potential first hand. It's redic, but with the price of the ess blower and a motorbuild you can buy the biggest single you want and build the motor. If fuel limitations are solved completely the n54 will end up on top of SCed s65 m3s. Turbos just make more power than scers sooooooo bottom line this argument is stupid.

    Fwiw I'd take a ess600 m3 over a single turbo 335 though.

    We don't need to do this again. Dollar for dollar is irrelevant. It is always going to be cheaper to modify factory forced induction cars than build motors for forced induction that were not that way from the factory. The point is the potential of the S65 is far greater.

    We are just now seeing the N54 hit 10's, great. It's a step forward but it still isn't ahead of where the S65 was let alone where it will be.
