Mainly money (broke student), and deciding if I want to use the M54 platform. Part of me wants to save up for an M as it's a more capable platform (factory LSD, stronger internals, no harmonics issues, etc).

I went for the M from a 330i when I had my E46 for exactly these reasons (except the broke part Click here to enlarge ).

Great minds think alike Click here to enlarge

Hopefully, after a few more years of school I'll change the broke situation as well lol
Probably gonna stick with the 330 until then.

Using that BOV might lead to part throttle/idle problems. The SC systems run a draw through maf design.

At idle and part throttle (basically whenever there is vacuum in the intake manifold), the BOV is open. Since it's located after the maf, you'll end up getting un-metered air in to the system when you're not wide open. The BPV design of the AA valve recirculates the unused air that's already been metered by the maf.

Good job on the install so far though, the black looks great!

Since it's located after the maf, you'll end up getting un-metered air in to the system when you're not wide open. The BPV design of the AA valve recirculates the unused air that's already been metered by the maf.

Good job on the install so far though, the black looks great!
