    Tuningwerk upgraded turbos?

Just came across this (thanks to DavidV):

    http://www.tuningwerk.de/tuningwerk/bmw_750i.html?apn=2&wosid=UblOb5uVbTZ2DNcWHtU8l0

Does anyone know more about this company? Specifically their upgraded turbos? And the airbox looks dope! Click here to enlarge

They claim up to 520hp at the crank, which is pretty much on par with current RB setups on pump gas.

Don't know yet about the pricing though.

No pricelist anywhere on the site though. They do sell some nice stuff.

Yep, they can be modified, as in cut off the end pieces. The trick is how to join the tube to the compressor inlet in the best way. It might be as simple as 1.75" to 2.25" silicone couplers but it probably won't be secure enough as clamps may not work out right on them. At the same time, there's only vacuum there, no positive pressure, so the clamps don't need to be massively tight at all, just need to hold it in place firmly enough.

Do they do any market research before developing and pricing these products? Who would buy that? You can almost get RB's for that price

Now I don't even dare to call them for the upped turbos...

I wonder what tune they run. They talk about calibrating it on their in-house dyno.

I don't know much about the exhausts for this car yet but they are selling the 135i Akrapovic for 2,970.00 EUR, doesn't that seem extreme?

520 to the crank? That's not much of an upgrade. RBs are capable of close to 500 whp realistically which is closer to 580-600 crank.

The other plumbing included is interesting though.

Also the picture shown on the site of their turbo upgrade is nothing but stock turbos. With RB/ASR turbos you can see a clear difference.

Isn't that the normal price for the Akra Titanium system?

The Akra exhaust is reallll expensive but I've heard the sound is real nice. My only complaint about the 335 is the exhaust, I haven't heard a nice one yet. My vanguard annoys me sometimes...

Heh, miltek hmm? I'm getting tired of spending money on this car at the moment. I'm getting wheels and I'll be done for a while. I have to hear a miltek in person.
