    MOTHER F****ER! Need to vent....

Hey guys and girls, if you run 80/20 methanol mix, make sure your windshield wiper fluid cap is on tight! I'm in the market for a new wiring harness, two coils, two injectors, maybe a valve cover, pcv hose, etc. Dammit. So, anyone know where I can find this stuff at a decent price? I guess it was a bad idea to race on Friday the 13th......12.77@114 while on fire though.

It would have been just fine if I stuck with the 50/50. Hindsight is always 20/20. I'll get it straight, just might take a little time. I need a new innertube for my huffy so I can get to work!

I would change your post asap, once you realize how much a wiring harness is going to cost you you will reconsider what you just said.

If he needs the main harness he is looking at atleast 1500 (just a guess) plus a $#@! of an install. Total this will run him several grand if its as he described.

What's the most worrying is that probably only a fraction of those events are publicly disclosed for various waranty / insurance concerns...

I'm not too worried about the whole situation. The harness is $350, new engine cover is $100. I'm not too big on fraud, so I'll just fix it all myself. I'll have the car back in tip top shape for about $600

That's why I'm not doing the WW thing; specially if you track your car (road course) not the drag strip. I've already had to replace the cap twice, from filling normal WW Fluid it eventually looses grip/clip power something and my fluid used to spill all over the place.

Very sorry to hear! Was the WW cap loose and fluid filled to the brim? I think I have 20-30 new WW caps at the office if anyone needs a new one you can have one for the shipping charge. With heavier meth mixtures during track use filling it up not quite all the way might be a good idea.

Terry, yes, and yes. It was a dumb mistake. $#@! happens, but I'll have it back together once the parts show up. From now on, I think I'll be running a 50% mix. Lesson learned. It's not the Methanol kits fault, it's operator error. I knew there was a reason I worked so much overtime the last few weeks.

Use a heat insulation mat around the filler neck and make sure the cap is securely fixed in one way or another. Perhaps BMS can come up with a solution for locking the cap? It should be included in meth kits that use the WW container.

You must have a good safety cap and very careful when filling the tank

I've always told the Spanish guys that is very dangerous to use in theengine baia

apart is impossible to pass here in Spain itv with the pump therebefore, there you have much luck with itv inspections

This happened to me as well.Doing logs and next thing i know flames coming out of the hood. I was lucky and got it out immediately. Be sure to check all vaccum hoses mine were melted allthe way up under valve cover as well.Mine just melted plastic wire looms and vac. hoses only so sorry to here about all your damage. Its a little tacky but i use duct tape to hold my new cap down so this doesnt happen again.
