335d: Any benefit to K&N Air filter over stock?

Any pros or cons of a K&N air filter for use in my 2011 335d?

    Thank you.

Always a benefit to a freer flowing filter. I don't know how restrictive the stock one is though.

I used the K&N for a bit....honestly didn't see any difference whatsoever. Took out the air intake box and tossed a 4" cone in there instead. If nothing else, it SOUNDS a lot better. Click here to enlarge

I switched to a K&N drop in airfilter last year.
K&N claims 8hp gain on a N54. If all it did feel the engine breathed better after the install.
Could be the turbos spool a little better with the air filter installed.
8hp in DD is not noticable at all though.
