alignment - start with about -2.5 camber in the front, 0 toe, and about -1.5 rear, 1/8th toe in
you'll want to monitor oil temp and pressure, and get a proper coolant temp gauge
there's lots of excess weight in the rear seats, trunk, etc
check your rtabs, fcabs, and rear shock mounts
Oh, Ive got that all covered Click here to enlarge

Going 13" in the front and 12.4" in the back

I did say dedicated track car, but to be honest, it will see the street a good bit (who could resist). I am going to do everything the right way though. I am expecting it to be extremely clean once I am finished, cleaner than any E36 I have seen thus far.

so, that tells me it could be road course, endurance, rally, circle track...the mirrors say no autocross, drag, or time attack

kinda makes a difference when you're asking for must have mods. i just wanna offer good advice man!

I didn't know what you meant when you said "track work", obviously you meant what type of racing. I have just never heard that term before. Probably autocross and road course, I will take it here as often as I can:

    sweet, sorry.

must have mod: one of those trackside garage lots!

the one thing i noticed between autocross and road course is braking requirements. the stock stuff works nicely for autocross, but roadcourse seems to need better cooling. almost the same goes for coolant and oil cooling.

you'll probably find you want different alignment and suspension settings for autocross, road course and street. you might want adjustable sway bars.

my opinion: the more you mod, the less track time you'll see.

    KISS!!!!!!

I am hoping to get racing brake 2-piece rotors sometime soon. The first thing I need to do, like you said, is find the right suspension setting.

having not done it with a car yet, i would say a no brainer is brakes.

from there, maybe get it on the track first and then see what you need to/ want to change and how. VAC is really good about offering that sort of advice

    big ol' plus one

you'd be surprised how much fun a stock-ish e36 can be on track. there's not many 'must have mods' for fun, recreational, tracking. especially autocross.

I was thinking about getting the VAC cage. You can never be too safe.

the mounts are pretty nice. but, i couldn't get my driver's seat close enough to center. bottom mounted seats though. hopefully you have better luck with side mounted ones.

consider extending the slot that allows the wheel to tilt. you might need the wheel to come down lower, due to a lower seating position.

I am pretty tall, so it might not be a problem. I will definitely mess around with it to see though, thanks for to advice!

Congrats man, very clean car. You ordered a $#@! load of things without having the car? that's the spirit lol.

BTW what a S50B32 costs there? S50B32 + VAC heads + 6 speed and you are set to tear apart other cars at track.

I actually do not know what the average cost is here. And yes, I have ordered a lot of things without the car even being here yet haha. I will have it on Thursday though. It should have been here a week ago, but some other things came up. I will make sure to post a lot of pictures when I get everything in! The VAC mounts look great.
