Epic E46 M3 rear subframe carnage

Well, total rear unit failure. We offer a thorough reinforcement kit to avoid situations like this. We have sold 100s of these and installed a ton on street and race cars. The pics below show an extreme example of why our kit is necessary.

    BattaM3 is a BEAST, that's all I can say ;-)

Better start pulling out invoices and receipts. This may get real interesting.

I have I'm aall invoices in my email. Gotta dig thru to older ones because the subframe was done when I had S/C removed and hpf stg2 installed at hpf. I'm a loyal HPF supporter. I hope WAR isn't on the table.

Oh jeez. For the record I have no problem with HPF - we do business with each other with no problems. I'm not trying to open a can of worms with these pics - I will confirm in the AM if there is a kit underneath. If not, who knows.

We have seen even stock E46s with failures...so I'm not surprised to see advanced damage on a 600+ hp car that was driven like it was supposed to be driven ;-) One thing is certain - as soon as the subframe area 'comes loose' all hell breaks loose quickly.

But have you seen damage this bad with a properly reinforced rear. If he has a failure this bad after being reinforced maybe a better kit needs to be developed.
Its not opening a can of worms. If there is no reinforcements HPF will have to answer. If the plates are there and welded correctly this may be the chance to build a better reinforcement option.

Holy hell, I've seen some bad m3 rear subframes befor but this absolutely takes the cake. I wonder how long this was going on, it looks a little rusty to me. Maybe that helped contribute. Mike is there any sign of this car being in an accident before? That is just a lot of carnage. I'm assuming it has stock subframe bushing that are completely torn right?

Seriously though, it really depends on how an individual car is driven. Reinforced or non reinforced cars can break. Not all cars or drivers are the same. I've seen someone rip the rear end out of a stock E92 M3. I've seen an E30 M3 with an undercarriage that made us scratch our heads. I'm starting to photo crazy stuff...it will make for a fun thread one day.

This has to be new damage. My car was at VAC late July to sept. I asked to check the rear and suspension. I was told no cracks. Got that invoice too. There no finger pointing going on. Just keep it moving. If there's no plates then there's a problem.

My car has been at Vac since late oct. Early nov so maybe if there's rust it's from sitting. Like I said Vac is on it and I'll take care or hpf if no reinforcements were done. I can promise that. There

Let's just wait to hear from mike tomorrow. I doubt hpf didn't do something they were paid to do, atleast I hope not. Did you find invoice of installed reinforcements?

Damn. Ha I'm gonna be expecting to see e46's rip in half at the strip now!

Curious to see what improvements are made.
