    Help with Air Fuel Ratios

This chart show a dyno of my supercharged E92 from a dyno. Can someone comment on the AFRs being rich at the low end and high at the top end? Is this what it should be? Should I be concerned about this?

    Thanks

    What dyno was this?

What supercharger do you have and when was this done?

That looks really lean to me.

Those AFR's are too lean for NA let alone FI. What are you using to measure AFR? Looks like you put a wideband in the tailipe & it came loose or something.

Its a Gintani Stage 3. This was on a Mustang Dyno, not full throttle, and sensor out of the driver's side exhaust. Gintani agrees its not good and they are looking to replace the O2 sensor (yet again). The error codes are all about O2 sensors as well.

That's pretty lean for a stage 3 supercharged S65 with stock compression. Might want to get that checked out.

Not stock compression though - its lowered to increase the boost. I am checking it out for sure. Its running too rich at low RPM as well.

Definitely re-tune before getting lots of load on a long pull. 13.5:1 is about the richest and then at the end of the pull it sky-rocketed to about 15.9:1, unless you count the mid 10's at the beginning of the run (What's up with that?). That's gonna be really hot in the combustion chambers.

I'd expect maybe 12.5:1 down low slowly going to 11.5:1 or 12:1 up top for 93octane gasoline. Maybe richer if they were trying to max out the supercharger.

Might want to try another wideband or dyno just to confirm.

When are the 02 sensors being replaced?

Still working on when. Waiting on our friends in LA to get back to me. Once I do that I'll re-dyno with my new sweet fat ass tires too.

Isn't Alex heading to China? Not sure when you will do this but certainly it is in their best interest to take a look at this.

Didn't know about Alex traveling - all I need is an appointment at the dealer to replace the O2 sensors - someone "friendly" to the cause. He's trying to arrange that. The a re-dyno I guess.

Update: Replaced the O2s, but they failed again after about 2 days. These damned things have never worked since the supercharger went on it - they've been replaced a few times already but keep failing.

How are they checking that they are bad? Live-Data stream and looking at voltage or check engine light? Are they fouled with oil, look caked with white or burned?

Guys I don't know why they are failing. I'm going to talk to the tech who recently worked on them, but at this point it has to be somehow related to the SC and Exhaust setup, right? Do others with SCs have this problem too?

I didn't have this problem but I didn't drive my car with the SC all that long.

I don't know why these are failing either but sound like it is related to the SC or exhaust as what else could it be?

I'll ask the tech about some of the thoughts on this thread later today an we'll see. Will be a few days before I get back home and can take it in to the shop.

My thoughts exactly. Will probably have to go back to the Gintani guys and deal with all that again. If you keep swapping them out and they fail, its not the sensor's fault.

Could it be something as easy as a nicked/shorting wire.

That was an idea the tech had as well. It could explain a host of other stock parts failing over the last year, such as my Oil Sensor and the ICV.
