    135i Botched Software Update????

First of all, I'm not sure if this is an N54 or N55, so I thought I'd post in the 135i section.

Any guesses to what this guy's problem is?????

Seems he has a concern with the active exhaust and throttle response? Maybe he doesn't like the "pops" in the exhaust that most of us love?

I had to laugh a bit. I can't imagine that a BMW update would cause any of these issues.

Looks like he is an idiot. Does he say what the problem is/was?

    I don't see an issue at all...it seems like a tuned 1 series...I watched it a couple times...no clue what he's showing...

the left side exhaust tip is usually closed at idle anyway. Also his throttle response issue is normal? If you act like an idiot and stab the pedal, any drive by wire car will not have the same response as a cable driven setup.

Moved to N54 for now unless someone knows if this is an N55.

This is my car, its an N55.

The problem with it is the throttle is none responsive till about half way down, plus there is a 1/2 second delay on any input. Prior to the SW update it was not like this.

On top of this the car is lacking Torque below 3k rpm & the exhaust is now muted.

This is not the way to motivate a response.
"Your problem, do some research yourself" would be my first reaction.

What kind of "update" was done and why?
What is your software version now?
You can check that in the daycounter menu. I believe, contact on, hold daycounter button for 25 seconds, toggle with menu button (left)

Yeah, you have to specify the update. A friend of mine with a 2011 6MT had a similar update installed, and had the dealer install PPK1 at a steeply discounted rate after suffering problems like yours. Take it back to the dealer and complain.

On a side note, the N54 had a similar update to cure exhaust gate rattle. Many did not notice the decrease in performance, but enough did that there is a service bulletin out describing how to restore the previous state of tune.
