    Eurosport Twinscrew 2.1L Stage One

Some time ago i was fortunate enough to be able to place an advance order for the new Eurosport Twinscrew Supercharger with the 2.1L Kenne Bell blower for my e36 M3. I chose this kit over the original Opcon Autorotor kit due to the greater potential of the larger blower on a built engine. The one person who's installed this kit on a built engine is having some throttle issues which are still being worked out, but for now, since i'm staying stock for awhile, i gave instructions to ship my kit to TRM now and tune it to the stock engine, to which it comes well-matched from Eurosport.

Of course like all things Eurosport, even "now" involves delays, this one due to a brilliant last-minute idea from Josh which he just had to implement before shipping, said Thomas from TRM was there waiting to take it home with him, and he sent me some pics so i figured it was time to start the thread with some porn. The mod he just did was to install freaking *o-rings* as manifold sealers, which is just gorgeous:

For those wondering, "why Eurosport?", sick stuff like this is why. It's also why you will wait forever, but there it is.

Meanwhile to pass the time i had TRM go to work on the chassis, with new suspension (decided to try TRM's track/street setup with 780 lb/in spring rate), motor mounts, bushings (stock) and frame reinforcements, and also had them tie off the dreaded oil pump bolt and install a UUC M5/3 kevlar clutch w/lightweight flywheel, here's some of those pics:

Not shown are a diff brace yet to be installed, and complete Rogue shift kit. Custom AEM gauges will also be installed, using theatrical foil to get the perfect BMW Amber and milled-and-filled AEM bezels for a more flush mount and OEM appearance. If North Hollywood Speedometer gets this right, i should be able to avoid having to angle the gauges.

Note i call this a "Stage One" twinscrew build because there is only one tune for this kit, and that's TRM's, maker of the "stage 2 tune" for the original Eurosport kit with the Opcon blower. ALL new Eurosport Twinscrew kits will come standard with a TRM tune that'll get you around the same 400whp as the old kit with what was called the Stage 2 tune. I will consider it Stage 2 when i build the engine, re-pulley and re-tune (and probably re-bulld or fab a new throttle body). On this kit, that's projected to put you right around 500whp.

Enjoy and stay tuned to BimmerBoost/GermanBoost for the install details in the coming weeks and if there's any specific dyno specs you wanna see, post it here in advance so i can do my best to make sure TRM includes your desired metric(s) in their dyno testing.

Even with the throttle issue this kit will be available for built and stock motors, correct?

    Really generous, thanks.

I just want to see it on a dynojet.

It'll be done on whatever TRM has.

I'd expect whatever throttle solution is designed will either be the default for the production kits going forward or at least available as an option, but you'll know the moment i do.

Could larger throttle body be worse on a stock setup, or you figure one size would fit all and just make the TB behave however you want with the tune? I'd figure the latter, in which case the fix for the built-engine setup will probably be included as part of future kits, wouldn't you think?

Yes it seems like Tank is tickled pink with the unit as-is. And honestly i expect to be pretty satisfied with the stock setup, my impression of the one TS M3 i did drive - the AA prototype car with the Opcon blower - being that it was really nicely matched in every characteristic to the e36's design and that the TS gave it just that extra bit it needed across the board without significantly changing the e36 experience you know and love. I just figure if one is gonna build the engine and the potential's there, why not.

Those are TRM camber plates that come with their coilover set.

Who tuned it if you don't mind my asking? And are you selling them?

I think we spoke last year actually when i was asking about a crank balancer you were coming out with, in anticipation of potentially turning higher revs with the built-engine setup Tank and i are shooting for. Not that a higher redline would even necessarily be conducive to the whole torque-monster philosophy of the TS, it just depends where the sweet spot ends up being i guess. But i was concerned and if it was you i spoke with, you said the new balancer was coming out soon.

Good to see your set up is coming along Susan.

TRM has a Land and Sea dyno (not a Dynojet number queen, ill load-reading roller dyno.)

After viewing the many Kenne Bell Mustang set ups,
it is obvious that there are more gains to be had with TB size upgrades,
which may also require some fabrication of the Eurosport elbow area,
    but hope is significant
and JOSH will not stop until it is bettered. Time is the battle with him.

    Patience is our virtue.

Thanks milkt, and yep patience is the price of admission to TS club. But ya once Josh has his teeth into something he'll pursue it, in his time. I just plan to keep intouch with Josh/TRM on the matter once i've got mine back and see where it's at when i'm ready to build. I'm sure Tank will send his car back for another go if they have a promising solution ready.

Their dyno is likely better for tuning but try and get dynojet numbers if you can simply as a reference due to the amount of people that use them. It will just help put the result in context. The dynojet itself is not the best choice for tuning. Great way to show numbers though...

Makes sense Sticky. Glad TRM uses the better one but if i come upon a relatively cheap and hassle-free way to do a dynojet pull locally maybe i will, for science.

Josh promises the kit will ship next week, and the custom AEM gauges are on their way back from North Hollywood Speedometer. They weren't able to mill down the bevels so angling may still be necessary to see them properly, but they did make the bevels matte black to match the console and minimise glare/reflection - something that bothered me about the glossy AEM bevels - and claim to have matched BMW Amber perfectly. Kevin from NHS owns an e36 himself, so i have high hopes.

Regarding the throttle mod for Stage 2, Josh is definitely making them. They will be 80mm and available as an upgrade at extra cost. He is doing this with the thought that most people will run the kit stock, and this way he doesn't have to price all the extra R/D into the stock kit price. No price estimate on the throttle upgrade as yet.
