Florida Adding Red Light Cameras in July

    Hah:

Florida will become the tenth state to add red light cameras on a statewide level on July 1, 2010. Sixteen other states also permit the use of red light cameras, but are limited to certain locations by local laws and ordinances. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), a proponent of automated enforcement cameras, has a state-by-state breakdown of the penalties and who is liable.

More of our taxdollars wasted so we can get more fines... If you are going to run a redlight and kill some 1, a camera will not stop u.

but when you're coming across a red light with a camera, you'll think twice between speeding through that yellow/red

Perhaps, or perhaps they will increase rear end collisions from people overly eager to brake.

If you look at statistics, running a yellow light has not killed many, its when you are drunk and run a RED light and at that point a camera would not have stopped or slowed you down. All this does is make the taxpayer pay double.

Def increase collision, which will increase tickets, which will increase lawsuits, which will increase doctor visits, which will increase insurance, which will boost the economy at the expense of the taxpayer.

They already have a few in the Tampa area, so nothing new. Aren't there groups out there fighting the constitutionality of these things?

They have these right outside the Gables on US1. Starting infront of the Collection pre-owned lot all the way until 57ave (Sunset Place). Ive seen people just step over the line and the cameras are flashing away. Actually got a ticket, but never had to pay it.
