    This is ridiculous - crushing cars

    I have heard that California does these things, but the idea makes no sense.



    They could part this car out and make a killing - instead they turn it into scrap and sell it as metal?

    Or sell the entire thing and make a killing; not that my bankrupt/near bankrupt state could ever see the good in doing that.

    I know many law enforcment agencies were threatening to seize and destroy vehicles if you were caught street racing, but I never actually saw proof of one going into the crusher. Wow.

    What, this happens all based on what some cop with a hard-on for his authority says?

    That's absurd, ridiculous really. The penalty for street racing should not be loss of $60k. It makes no sense.

    How about the state takes the money from sales of these cars to open some more tracks? How about that?

    I really don't understand crushing even if it was a reasonable punishment(which it isn't). Sell it and keep the money or if its a conflict of interest/deemed a cash grab - just donate the proceeds to charity.
