    Hpf's new drag car pictures

Here are a few pics of HPF's new drag car that we will be coming out with this year. Yes, Fallon will be the driver of this beast. We are running a TH400 in the car w/Transbrake and it will be violent. I'll post up more pics as we get the car done for MFest.

    Chris.

    $#@! just got real.

Makes sense actually to have her drive considering the rear wheels alone probably weigh more than she does.

What changes are being made to this car for drag racing duty?

Was considering going to Mfest and it would be fun to run this.

You should definitely come to M-fest. I've been on a champagne diet, I'm really trying to slim down for the races.

I've been before. I messaged the organizer on his forum but he didn't even take the time to respond. In that case, I'm not going to take the time to support his event.

You guys have fun, looking forward to watching this build take place and what HPF does with it. Will likely be the fastest BMW on the strip.

I'm not sure what is really left of you to slim down.

You are thinking right. If they are doing what I would think they are doing then 9's should easily be in the picture.

The car should fit in the Outlaw class with RREV's old Supra and our 1G drag car and Speedfactory's Civic.
Looking forward to seeing it finished!!
Thanks Click here to enlarge Yes we plan to run it in the import face off events up and down the West Coast.

Here's the TH400 Transmission we're going to run. We have the bell housing and we're building the internals now. We're going to run a steel drum for this year. We're setting it up to run any GM converter and ours specifically will be running a ProTorque 9".

    Differential or rear end type?
Obviously going for VERY lightweight (wisely).
What else is written in the notes for this VERY specific GOAL oriented car/build? Please give at least general ideas for the plan.

The flywheel is done. We're picking up the metal for the billet adapter plate here shortly and the converter is being built as we speak. I've ordered the wheels from Weld and the Tires from MT. We're moving the seat rearward and the chrome moly cage is nearly complete by RaceTech. Here are some more pics.

    Chris,

    That's a super clean cage!

One question though: I see a MIG torch being used for tacking; are you sure that it's CM? Usually you aren't supposed to use a MIG to do any welding on CM cages.

    Very nice design though.
