Custom TRM turbo build by Don (dcvee)

I just got some progress pictures in from Don. He is building a custom setup for my 95 ///M3 which includes:

Built S50 motor with Wesico 8.8:1 pistons, K1 connecting rods, new oil squirters, mild head work, blue printed and balanced. Don can chime in with more details. He's also doing all of the custom pipe work for the intake and exhaust. I will be running a high flow cat, and retaining my air conditioning.

This setup will be TRM tuned with blow thru MAF, 60# injectors. I'll be running a t4 spa manifold, t4 (.70 a/r cold side w/4”intake and 2.5” outlet; .68 a/r hot side, 3” v-banded exhaust) Precision PT-6169 (thanks Nate) journal bearing turbo, Tial 38mm wategate (11 lb spring), Tial Q BOV, and TurboXS dual adjustable manual boost controller. I'll use an eBay intercooler with 90 degree elbows welded on and custom motor mount. Horsepower goals are 450-550...with fast spool. This car is daily driven, not a dyno queen or drag racer.

I want to send out special thanks to the manager of operations "Baily the Turbo Dawg"! You can see his picture below. He's Don's personal adviser when it comes to building a turbo e36 ///M3Click here to enlarge

Questions and comments welcome... Onto the pictures:

It should be done soon. Not sure exactly when, but I am hoping before the end of the month. I need to talk to Don tonight, and will update the thread (hopefully with more pics).

Click here to enlargeVery similar...same builder, same tuner, both are s50's. I am using a different turbo, different WG, BOV, MBC, MAF, and injectors. He has WI, I do not. I think he's using different crank or cams, but I don't recall. Once I get my car back, broken in and straightened out, GG and I will take some videos.

    The contour is for GG!!!

That sounds great, what is the ballpark time frame?

Not sure...I will update when I find out more. From what I gather, the engine should be completed. All of the parts are there...everything needs to be assembled. Of course the is a lot of welding that needs to get done.

Nice to see the pics up Bob, but you forgot to add in that I was doing the tuning. Also we are running the same cranks, but different rods. Yes I have the meth/water injection but I have not run it yet. I look foward to seeing the beast done. Note to self remove the M from the front grill and add ds2's to make it more powerful. ALSO TURBO DOG FTW.

I thought you were running something from the s52 motor...guess I am wrong. I already requested that the korny ///M badge be removed by Don. You have Ealge rods, I have K1...same difference (they won't bend). My contours add 69whp over you ds2's. That came directly from Turbo Dawg!

I have s52 cams yes. You are incorrect about the contours. Ds2's add 25whp over the contours on mustang dyno's. On magic dyno's contours add 69whp.

DSIIs will actually SLOW the car down as if you're pressing on the brakes.
Listening to GG will make your car have a boost leak.

Don can fix these issues by fixing GG's boost leak and putting tape over his mouth and fingers.

    Looks good Bob.

That pic of the Tubro Dawg has me dying laughing.

Oh, Milkt has some lightweight's he wants to give you for free to replace those rims. He has so many stockpiled he controls the current market price. Technically it is market manipulation, but the SEC is not on to him yet. He is sneaky.

I am not sure if Don will join this forum, as I never asked him about it.

Nate, Don insisted that I give props to the Turbo Dawg...LOL! I like the lightweight wheels, and the DS2's...even the DS1's. As long as there is no chrome or bling, I pretty much like them.

Me too bro, me too! The tires I selected to go with the HP adding contours should grip quite nicely. They are Dunlop Star Specs, in case anybody was wondering. Don had them in his garage, and apparently 5 or so people offered to buy them from him in a 2 week period...
